I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?
I’m struggling with an upset stomach, and I’m thinking it was something I ate, though the offending item would have to be frozen (thawed) raspberries. I thought of getting some beer to help settle it, but don’t have enough beer money today.
It’s about 85 degrees (YAY!) with 9% and no wind. A weather combo I have been waiting six months for! :o])
I managed to “clean” house but still have to vacuum the rug, and I believe that will have to wait until tomorrow or later. I’m done with housework...
Hopefully, the “new” car is going to be dependable for your driving teens, and that the kids will get a lot of use out of it. I would drive mine to AZ and UT if I knew it was fairly dependable on a long trip. I seldom drive more than 50 miles at a time. Boring. I’ve see it all...
I’m struggling with shrieking children and the Dog.
Wanna trade? I’d last about five minutes, but I would certainly be entertaining!
I could help.
We could play “Rednecks and Armadillos”.
Any number can play! Many amazing things can happen when adults get into the Play Mode!
That's what's fun about being a Cub Scout leader.
Even though this is something I consistently advocate, my mind tends to go "Wait, what?" when I find people agreeing with me about it.
Ethereal, Chapter Twenty-One
Mrs. Anderson, Alice as it turned out, was thin and regal; Late forties at the outside. She seemed genuinely pleased to have company.
Henry had been a very accomplished pianist in his youth, but his job had taken him away from that for the most part. He seldom tickled the ivories these days.
The kids and the Andersons spent the better part of an hour chitchatting and comparing interests. It was a good visit. Hannah promised to come back again, and invited the Andersons to come to Church with them, to at least hear the choir, which was so lovely.
Mrs. Anderson said that they would try, and thanked them for a wonderful visit.
And then they left.

In the realm, Alice and Henry found each other immediately, and bonded instantly. They ran off together as soon as they heard about Rogers Tree House. They were bright smiles and handholding, skipping and joyous, as two children had never seemed before.
Hannah and Jeff watched them dancing toward the forest with considerable delight. It was such a happy scene.
Youve got a right good place here, Timmy. Ill have to admit it. Jeff said. His resigned and disapproving glance downward when they had arrived signaled that he was still a bit miffed about always losing his maturity when he came here. But he accepted it as the price of admission. This was a joyous place to be.
The Movie Reviews
Tonight we saw Maps to the Stars about a highly dysfunctional Hollywood family, the parents of which, unbeknownst to them, are siblings. Their two children have all the ensuing genetic defects that are to be expected
from inbreeding. The children, in their teens, are both actors, but have no empathy for their victims, some of whom die. It was three stars at best, but very cringe worthy in many of the plot twists and scenes.
Also, Exodus: Gods and Kings the Biblical story of Moses and his rescue of the Hebrews from slavery by the Egyptians. I dont know who thought it up, but Almighty God appears to Moses as a six or seven year-old
boy who guides him through their travails and tribulations, protecting the Hebrews from the seven plagues and parting the Red Sea, only to drown Pharoahs army when the Hebrews are safe. Moses gets the Decalogue
from God, and prepares for 40 years of wandering in the desert eating manna and going to the Promised Land. Five big, fat stars. Everyone, even the God-child who guided Moses, was just perfect. Its a great movie,
and were going to buy it.
“Tonight we saw Maps to the Stars about a highly dysfunctional Hollywood family, the parents of which, unbeknownst to them, are siblings.”
That could be a reality TV show about life a couple of counties away from here.
I saw the Exodus movie in the theater when it came out.
I enjoyed it. Biblical history made plausible is a strange concept, especially when it has to take a meandering path through the social desert of Hollywoodland, but that’s pretty much the way I see it myself.
We thought it was great! Bale did a great job, and so did Joel Edgerton. Just spectacular.
I certainly hope that there aren’t a lot of grisly deaths in a county that is that close to you. :-o
We were very disappointed in Maps to the Stars.
Tom didn’t like “Exodus.”
THAT’s what I need! Marmalades to go with my coffee...my last coffee...
*tagline*
I finished up the last of the coffee in the open container yesterday.
But no need to panic. I have a coffee supply that hasn't been opened yet. Proper prior planning prevents ... um ...
.
I need some coffee.
These places were built for “temporary” housing for folks who were retired and on the way to the grave. They aren’t big enough for most folks, and have no storage of any kind, so keeping a supply of coffee or anything else is almost impossible, by the time you get dishes put in the cupboards.
I have a small pantry and a small freezer, but they have almost run me out of my kitchen. I have to back out because if I turn around too fast, I will meet myself.
Obviously, ...
Okay, perhaps not too obviously, you have too many dishes.
Really! You said, “by the time you get dishes put in the cupboards”, and I said, “Whoa!” Anything more than a place setting or two, in your kitchen, is wasted space.
Am I right?
.
Speaking of. I have to wash dishes.
I have dishes in a set for four, four glasses, some serving dishes, four champagne flutes (match the dishes) and mixing bowls. Period. The little cupboard to the right of the stove has spices, the cupboard over the stove has hot cereals, and the lower cupboards have cookware and bakeware, and just the bare necessities of those.
There is no counter space to speak of.
My entire apartment will fit into Tax-chick’s dining room.
