Many amazing things can happen when adults get into the Play Mode!

That's what's fun about being a Cub Scout leader.

"Many amazing things can happen when adults get into the Play Mode!"

Even though this is something I consistently advocate, my mind tends to go "Wait, what?" when I find people agreeing with me about it.

Ethereal, Chapter Twenty-One

Mrs. Anderson, Alice as it turned out, was thin and regal; Late forties at the outside. She seemed genuinely pleased to have company.

Henry had been a very accomplished pianist in his youth, but his job had taken him away from that for the most part. He seldom tickled the ivories these days.

The kids and the Andersons spent the better part of an hour chitchatting and comparing interests. It was a good visit. Hannah promised to come back again, and invited the Andersons to come to Church with them, to at least hear the choir, which was so lovely.

Mrs. Anderson said that they would try, and thanked them for a wonderful visit.

And then they left.

In the realm, Alice and Henry found each other immediately, and bonded instantly. They ran off together as soon as they heard about Roger’s Tree House. They were bright smiles and handholding, skipping and joyous, as two children had never seemed before.

Hannah and Jeff watched them dancing toward the forest with considerable delight. It was such a happy scene.

“You’ve got a right good place here, Timmy. I’ll have to admit it.” Jeff said. His resigned and disapproving glance downward when they had arrived signaled that he was still a bit miffed about always losing his maturity when he came here. But he accepted it as the price of admission. This was a joyous place to be.
