It always annoyed me that doing anything “like a girl” is considered an insult.

Why? I am a girl, and it does not annoy me. It should be considered an insult and motivation for the male in question to try harder.

Been busy watching the last hour of a pretty incredible game so missed most of the replies here.

However, I stand by what I said earlier. It is not proper to criticize a boy who is screwing up or performing poorly by likening him to a girl. Doing that diminishes girls in my opinion.

Now that's not saying girls are as athletic or as strong as boys. It's simply saying that girls are girls and boys are boys. If a boy is throwing a ball improperly, don't say he's "throwing like a girl." Just say he's throwing poorly and then coach him on how to throw a ball more properly
