Is Chicago a great city? What makes it different?
Only Detroit is better!
I disagree, I have lived there my whole life. I would never go anywhere in the city unprepared at night, it is best to avoid it. Ghetto rats lurk everywhere.
Chicago’s diversified economy: Political corruption, drug cartels, drug gangs, gambling, prostitution, police corruption, etc....... really diverse!
The things i remember most about the Chicago area are toll booths.....EVERYWHERE, I am surprised that IL does not have a toll booth at the foot of every citizens driveway. Also there are so many billboards with half naked women advertising casinos EVERYWHERE.
Oh and that GIANT public housing complex on the side of the highway, the dumpy looking place looks to be the size of my entire town.
I lived near Chicago during college. I loved to visit. Still, it was miserable for me beyond belief in the winter and I moved to Florida as soon as I got my degree to Chicago. A girlfriend from college asked me to come back and move to Chicago, but I had already met and started dating a SoFlo Latina and said “No and hell no.” NOTHING could get me to intentionally live in that cold again.
I grew up in a small city (pop. 60K) but when we got married, we moved out to the country.
When I was younger I couldn’t have imagined living in a rural area; now I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
There’s much to see and do in cities, no question...but just visiting is fine with me.
Say hi to Natalie for me.
They tore the Robert Taylor homes down.
Most of IL outside Cook County would like to sink Chicago, the CORRUPTION center of the state, in Lake Michigan. Chicago is a political whore for sale to the highest bidders. Chicago is the center of evil in IL.
I spend my time on more important questions, like “Is toe jam really jam?”
i was just reading on Wiki that In one weekend, more than 300 separate shooting incidents were reported in the vicinity of the Robert Taylor Homes.
Sounds like it was a great place to live....
Pilsen and Little Village are no-go zones for non-Mexicans. VERY dangerous for non-Mexicans.
Re: Your Post #70.
You are so right!
