Last spring at an area wine festival, I took a ride behind one of these in a huge people-carrying wagon seated right next to the tractor/traction engine. It made a sharp turn down a hill, started rolling fast (no breaks as Jay said), and started heading for a lake. The guy on the steering wheel tried to turn it, but one of the chains below that pulls the left side of the front axle broke, and then the whole machine headed for the lake. I remember thinking, "I'm in the wrong place for when this boiler hits that lake water." It hit huge rocks on the edge of the lake and stopped suddenly a few feet from the lake. Friend and son in first pic.....wreck in last....... photo IMG_2098_zps93ec1850.jpg photo IMG_2100_zpsb00c1315.jpg photo IMG_2108_zpscd5917ce.jpg
