What sort of dog is Anna?

I was adopted by a red chow from New Orleans’s streets. A neighbor had brought him to me one day thinking he was my other chow at the time escaped. They looked very much alike.

I left Red Dog in the yard for about two days as I decided whether or not to keep him. He broke out under the house and left, and I was kind of sad, but oh well.

Three days later I was letting my dog out, I opened up the back door, and there was Red Dog right at the door. He had broken back in under the house, so I kept him then.

He came with full blown heart worms, and a coat full of ticks. I didn’t find out about the ticks until two weeks later when they took over my house. That was the best ;/

I had Red Dog for about 11 years after that. I strongly suspect that he had a much better life after adopting me, and I’m glad he did. I miss that old dog.

For insurance purposes the vet calls her an Italian Greyhound mix. In reality, she’s a brown, brindled pitbull mixed with whatever was handy. She’s a sweet, gentle, mild-mannered animal that appears to report to the 23 lb. Beagle who also lives here.
