Vice President Joe Biden wrapped up his California visit on Friday by telling doctors that the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, had “ended the debate” about whether health care is a privilege or a right, according to the Orange County Register.

Biden was speaking to the Patient Safety, Science & Technology Summit, congratulating doctors on a rapid reduction in the rate of hospital-borne infections in recent years. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also spoke to the meeting.

There is no provision in the Constitution or in the text of the Obamacare bill that refers to health care as a “right.” Nor are any other necessities–such as food, water, shelter and clothing–“rights” under any federal law or constitutional provision.

Have you investigated offshore possibilities? Others are already there. It is what the best English and Canadian doctors did who were not ready to retire when their nations socialized.

The hospitals are refusing initial admission to Medicare patients right now.

They are considered out-patients even if they stay a couple of nights.

It’s game playing and book juggling at it’s worst.

The ever changing laws and regulations will take care of that outpatient dodge soon enough. I have done a so far cursory glance at international insurance. Cygna has a single plan for $418 a month. That is too much considering the costs in the countries I would go to. But is lower than the last time I checked. Lots of other companies are getting into the field. I will look for foreign companies. For cash customers without insurance it is far cheaper to buy airfare to Thailand or now the Caribbean, pay for your required operation, recuperate a week in a hotel and fly home than it is to go to a hospital in America. When you go to Costa Rica or Thailand you are not paying the salaries of hordes of bureaucrats and for the treatment of myriad free patients.

health care as a “right.”

What about the doctors. There is no right to enslave doctors.

I wonder if Retarded Joe has any proof that healthcare is a “right” or if he just pulled that goofiness out of his @$$.

"Uncle Joe never was the sharpest knife in the drawer."

He's barely an anvil.

So how much of someone else’s time are you entitled to? When you say something is a right, then others must protect and deliver that right. So how much of their time belongs to you?

The day is coming when FedGov will pay the medical school bills in exchange for 4 years of indentured servitude once they graduate.
