Vice President Joe Biden wrapped up his California visit on Friday by telling doctors that the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, had ended the debate about whether health care is a privilege or a right, according to the Orange County Register.
Biden was speaking to the Patient Safety, Science & Technology Summit, congratulating doctors on a rapid reduction in the rate of hospital-borne infections in recent years. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also spoke to the meeting.
There is no provision in the Constitution or in the text of the Obamacare bill that refers to health care as a right. Nor are any other necessitiessuch as food, water, shelter and clothingrights under any federal law or constitutional provision.

Pure idiocy.
... and therefore you are a slave.
It’s not a right if someone else has to pay for it.
Shotgun Joe once again proving that his mouth and his anus are interchangeable parts.
By “right” he means taxation and gubmint control.
Wellllllll.... no one HAS to become a doctor or stay a doctor, Joey-pie.
Voting is also a “right.” But are you fined if you don’t vote? Answer that one crazy Joe. “Bite me.”
I always hear this phrase from the left, this and, "The science is settled." What the left really means is,"Don't question your masters."
His membership to the Bar should be rescinded.
Any first year law student should know that legislation can neither confer nor deny Rights to any citizen.
Why isn’t free dentistry a ‘right’, too?
Bishop Fulton Sheen once said; ‘ the truth is the truth even if nobody believes it and a lie is still a lie, even if everybody believes it.
The message to you in government - quit lying. Our nation would be much better off if you did.
Actually, I regard Obamacare as a massive infringement of the natural right to health care.
The natural right to health care, like the natural right to keep and bear arms and the natural rights of freedom of religion, speech and the press, must be exercised with the resources (and thus at the expense of) the person exercising it.
My right to keep and bear arms does not oblige my fellow citizens through the agency of the state to provide me with a rifle and ammunition, nor does my right to freedom of the press create an obligation for others to provide me with paper and ink. No more does my right to health care oblige others to pay for my use of the services of a physician, the acquisition of medicines and the like. What it does entail is the fact that any government that prevents me from contracting with willing providers of medical services or providing my own to myself if tyrannous and should be resisted.
Obamacare infringes the natural right to health care by making many means of acquiring (or providing) health care illegal, in much the same way that many measures advocated by gun grabbers infringe the natural right to keep and bear arms.
This line of thinking, or LACK there of, completely distorts the very definition of what a “Right” is, and will destroy this country if allowed to propagate.
A Right is something you are born with, that the government can’t take away from you. Healthcare doesn’t apply.
Healthcare is a SERVICE performed by others.
Go down this road and you can say that indoor plumbing is a “right”.
The internet is a “right”.
Vehicles are a “right”.
Food is a “right”
....WHERE does it end?
Keep talking Joe. You sound like the idiot you are
So glad I went to medical school so that I could be a slave to ‘Dr.’ Biden...
Bingo
At gun ownership.
How are they going to force doctors to do this? If you’re bright enough to graduate from medical school, you’re probably bright enough to consider other options.
Sit down, Joe!
Healthcare is a “right”, meaning doctors and nurses have an obligation to treat those who demand their services, whether or not those patients choose to pay - in the liberal world. I prefer the conservative world, where doctors provided emergency care out of compassion, so no one missed out on essential care, but medical professionals were otherwise free to make their own decisions. I miss freedom, and perhaps that is why liberals disgust me.
