An “uninflated” ball already contains more air than the air needed to further inflate it to 13 psi gauge. The temperature after inflation would only be about halfway between the pump temperature and ambient. If you used the compressor to try to inflate a weather balloon to 200 PSI, just prior to inflating the game balls, and completely evacuated the game balls, so that they were as flat as pancakes prior to filling them up, you might just get the results purportedly observed.

Good point.

Many ignoramuses have asked "What more do we need to know before we pass judgement?"

I don't mean to imply that this "piston" compressor is what happened so much as I'm pointing out that alot of folks here are jumping to conclusions based not upon facts, but upon their own rather large prejudices and improbably small minds.
