Apple products are for people who don’t understand tech. With Apple, all you need to know is where to turn it on.

REALLY?

Let's take a look at these people who "don't understand tech." These particular people are rocket scientists and engineers, specifically the people who were responsible for landing the Curiosity Rover on Mars. . . and let's look at the computers they have chosen as their personal computers:

NASA's Jet Propulsion Labs Mars Curiosity Rover Design and Landing Team
Gosh, SunTzuWu, I see only two Windows PC computers in the entire room.

. . .which the engineers bought with their own money. So much for the "Apple products are for people who don't understand tech claim" claim. . . or the "all you need to know is where to turn it on" meme. Now, some on FR have claimed these Macs are not running Apple's operating system. . . so let's take a closer look to make sure they are:

Just so you don't think these Macs are running Linux or Windows, Yup! you can see they are running Apple OS X.

Looks as if the one who doesn't know what he's talking about is you.

Have to disagree with your implied response. "...because these people are scientists and engineers automatically makes them PC tech-savvy."

BS. I know several engineers and scientists, good friends of mine. Not only are they horrible with troubleshooting PC's, they have ZERO tolerance to troubleshoot! I was talking with one of those friends one day while he was having issues with his PC. He asked if I would take a look at it having admitted he was no good with them, and what did I find?? PC-laptop was hosed up with several viruses.

Yup, he was a EE and couldn't figure out his PC's ailment. Oh, yeah... I also had to show him how to change the RAM in it. So yeah, for many... MACS are indeed for those who have no patients for PC troubles or care to resolve them.
