Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots...

When's the last time Cleveland won a championship?

The "color" of the fanbase (red or blue) is backed by hard demographics data researched by Feltus and Sharp. You can read the article here.

Enjoy your tainted victory.

It's a good question. That's what they're talking about up here, too. I go back to the Jeremy Lane injury, though, that opened up that side of the field for Brady and allowed him to construct these drives. There was also a tripping penalty against the Patriots as they tripped Lockette who would have had a first down and extended a Seahawks drive in the fourth quarter. No flag, yet the replay clearly showed he was tripped.

I would feel much better about the veracity of this victory for the other team if A) Goodell and Kraft weren't such good buddies; and B) If the team in question were more like the Colts or Broncos and didn't have a long and colorful history of, um, bending the rules.

Cleveland might now win a championship now that Johnny’s in rehab.

Ha - good one!

I don't know what's going on there. I've always liked the Browns, going back to the franchise that's now the Ravens (which I also like), back to when Belichick was the coach.

Their ownership, though, has serious issues letting go and letting football experts put a winning system in place. Yes, Haslam, I'm talking about YOU.

if NE calls timeout with 1 min left ... if allows SEA to run on the next 3 plays.

By running the clock down to 22 seconds ... if confused the situation for SEA as they could no longer run on 3 plays. It created the pass play.

I have not reviewed it thoroughly. What about the long pass play to the 5 yard line .... why not a timeout there?

“There was also a tripping penalty against the Patriots as they tripped Lockette who would have had a first down and extended a Seahawks drive in the fourth quarter. “

There was a roughing the punter against Seattle not called.

There was a ‘first down’ spot for Seattle where the replay showed there was no first down.

There was a tacky ‘defensive holding’ call against the Pats that gave yards AFTER run for a big game.

Hmmm. At least it's a plausible explanation. If that was Belichick's thinking, I don't know - that seems like a gamble with much higher probability of failing that simply calling a timeout with one minute left and either stopping them (not likely) or getting the ball back with enough time to possible score a FG (tough, but more likely than Seattle not scoring from the half yard line with 22 seconds and three plays).

What about the long pass play to the 5 yard line .... why not a timeout there?

Wouldn't the clock have stopped anyway?

Either:

1. Belichick was confused, or

2. He relied on Seattle being pressured. Stacked against the run and forced Seattle’s hand.

Don’t worry. We’ll soon be back to the merry-go-round of good-old-boys-only in the Superbowls: Dallas, Pittsburgh, Denver, San Francisco, Green Bay, Boston... Things will be back to “normal” soon.

Kearse wasn’t out of bounds, so no.

The coach should put a stop to that level of crudeness. I like Pete Carroll, but he needs to muzzle his trash-talking players and put a stop to offensive behavior like this.

Interesting. Well, looks like Seattle called a timeout at that point anyway.

Yes. They had it planned out. And they didn't run at the goal line for the simple reason that the Patriots sent in their jumbo package, expecting the run.

I take solace from the fact that the Patriots relied on injuries to Jeremy Lane and Cliff Avril to drop the Seahawks down to their level (at full health) and eek this one out.

Credit to the Patriots for their tackling skills and the New England "squirt" from their backs to get that extra couple of yards when they are tackled.

If the Seahawks played the Patriots 10 times, level field, full health for both teams, the 'Hawks win 6-7 of those contests. They just got lucky this time.

NBC ‘blipped’ it. It was covered up. No harm, no foul. Nothing will change.

LOL!

The Pats outplayed them. It was only by a miracle catch that the Seahawks were even in that position.

You’re blind to the injury to Jeremy Lane and (later on) Cliff Avril. You’ve put up the Baldwin thing, but your bias will not allow you to show the hit on Lane.

You call it a “miracle catch”. Has it occurred to you that maybe, just maybe, the Seahawks are actually a really good football team?

Thanks pitar. Fun game I thought. One of the best match-ups I’ve seen.
