Facebook is now cited in a third of all divorce cases, research has shown.
A survey of legal firms’ caseloads revealed the social network is increasingly relied upon as proof of inappropriate behaviour.

Leeds law firm Lake Legal said many cases revolved around social media users who got back in touch with old flames they hadn’t heard from in years.
Managing partner Lyn Ayrton said: “Social media provides an ongoing log of our lives. The sharing of written posts and pictures, often with geo-tagging, provides a record of activities that can be used in a court case.

Letters cropped up when they were the primary conversation medium. Then phone records. Now email/Facebook/etc.
It's also possible to flirt with your spouse on FB. It's all in how you use it.
And all the pictures. I can see posting a photo of your vacation or a backyard barbecue from time to time and sharing it with family or friends. But a lot of people are uploading dozens of photos a day, usually a selfie making a stupid face or whatnot. I think they are lonely and starved for attention.
Also, Free Republic spoils me as most of the posts here are intelligent or witty and we talk about things we have in common or about news events. Not like Cousin Freddie on Facebook yapping about he can't get the stains out of his underwear and then taking pictures of his soiled underwear and posting it (I'm not kidding).
No. But at some point one or the other decided either not to grow up or to revert to childhood.
They decided. They were not doomed.
Well, mine has been dead for years, so any flirting will be ok. I do not flirt on that site or any other though.

I find facebook totally boring.

I come here to see what happens next. I never lets me down.
I have a friend who’s wife re-connected with a friend from high school on Facebook. She went to her HS reunion. When she came back, within a couple weeks, she announced to her husband that he was no longer meeting her needs and divorced him. Ran off and married the new dude. Broke up a 16-year marriage with 2 teen daughters. He did NOT want the divorce.
Both claim to be devout Christians. I know my friend was diligently faithful to his ex.
You just don’t have the right friends. Mine are always intresting. Guess knowing most for over 60 years help. Most post funny verses, cartoons, etc. I save them and if I get down, I go to them and have a good laugh again.
:)Also love to see the Grandchildren pics,not that we live far from each other.I had one last week post in facebook that they moved in with someone.I took her out of the will.Must be nice to post to the world you moved in with someone and not telling your Mom.Puff gone.
I am blessed that I live in the same town as my daughter, her husband, her 2 kids and my 2 great granddaughters. They are not on FB like I am. They are too busy. My granddaughter tells me often that I, as a great grandmother, am on there more than she is. She has a full time job and I don’t plus I like keeping up with my friends and relatives.
:) We have a prayer forum-up to 84 members now.We have a private family forum-that’s for parties,help with Grandkids and rides etc.I also posts spiritual articles .I delete people who support things I don’t like .I unfriended everyone of my Grandchildren except one,that was fun-hehehhehe.Oh and I belong to a True Crime page-that has over 10,000,00 membersSome have lost relatives -writers -also souls that will be appearing on TV because of lost loved ones.Other than that facebook is boring. ((((Hugs))))
After several false starts, I decided that I had better do this in list form.
1. High school students are always distracted by it and other social media.
2. This creates a barrier to learning that is becoming increasingly hard to cross.
3. With this being accessible on smartphones, you are seeing an increase in students actually assaulting teachers when the phones are confiscated.
4. People are becoming so obsessed with reporting every little detail of their lives that they forget to live them.
5. People are also becoming so obsessed affixing their value to the count of virtual friends that face to face friendships become rare and as shallow as those on social media.
6. Facebook is now cited in 1/3 of all divorce cases in the US.
7. When I call someone friend it means they are a Mensch. Being one is therefore a measurable quality for those I call friend. I know them, I have broken bread, played music, um... gotten intoxicated:-) with them.
8. My really cynical definition of social media in general and Facebook in particular is that it is am "exercise and/or grand experiment in collective narcissism".
9. In a more generous view, I would say that is best likened to what George Washington is rumored to have said about government it is "a troublesome servant and a fearful master"
10. I have a ton of outside interests and inclinations. Getting bogged down in reporting on all of them would take time away from actually doing these things.
