Yes, this is what they say, but what are they seeing that escapes me? I would have thought the movie would have presented his best case for being respected, but if there was any genius to him, the movie did a poor job of presenting it.
What did he do that was so "genius"? He seems to get credit for being a "genius" in the same way that Clinton got credit for everything good that happened on his watch (tech boom, etc.) while not having actually contributed anything to the good fortune for which he was being credited.
In the movie, he just comes off as a petty and demanding micro-manager that contributes mostly trivial "cheesy" ideas to the product after all the real work has been mostly accomplished by others.
Gosh, on that one ... it’s flabbergasting, because I wouldn’t know where to begin or even where to stop.
I could wear myself out on this one, but perhaps “Swordmaker” can do a better job than me ... yes, I’m punting ... :-) ...
You have no idea what it takes to build the largest company in the world, do you? Steve Jobs is credited by people who know with remaking no less than FIVE major industries. . . HE DID IT. No other CEO in history has been involved with remaking more than TWO. You denigrate his accomplishments with ignorance and your opinion. Your position is fully supported by your arrogant opinion. . . and your observation of an unauthorized movie. That's all. RIGHT.
By the way, Diogenes, when YOU have steered a company from near bankruptcy to the largest corporation in the world in just ten years, get back to us with your criticisms of the "genius" of Steve Jobs. . . they we MIGHT give you some gravitas to you arguments that he did not contribute anything or did not accomplish anything. . . and that his contributions were "trivial cheesy ideas" to the product after the real work had been mostly accomplished by others." Get cracking on building your world changing organizations.
By the way, i must be the you refer to as "he who is not a Dentist," but I have ALSO been a CEO. . . and I am willing to bet you have not been anything of the kind.
In our modern world Steve Jobs was like Julius Caesar was in the ancient world, "Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world Like a Colossus, and we petty men Walk under his huge legs and peep about To find ourselves dishonourable graves." and you, Diogenes, are certainly one of those petty men, who chooses to denigrate the man when he is dead.
