The four men arrested after an armed pawn shop robbery in Auburndale and slaying of two Haines City women were denied bail by a judge Saturday morning.
Michael Gordon, Devonere McCune, Jovan Lamb and Terrell Williams will remain in the Polk County Jail and are due back in the court Feb. 17.
They made their first appearance in a Bartow courtroom.
Gordon, 34, of Lakeland, faces two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Patricia Moran, 72, and her daughter, Deborah Royal, 51, at their home.
Investigators said Gordon broke into the house and viciously killed the women before stealing their car in an attempt to flee law enforcement.
Gordon also was charged with armed robbery and attempted murder on a law enforcement officer, along with 22-year-old Devonere McCune, 25-year-old Jovan Lamb and 29-year-old Terrell Williams, all of Haines City.
All were arrested at different locations during an overnight manhunt after an armed robbery at Cash America Pawn, 105 Havendale Blvd., on Thursday afternoon. Surveillance images from the robbery show intruders in white hoodies with assault rifles pointed at employees.
and they wonder why there were lynchings back in the day.
Four black lives that don’t matter.
They never did....and apparently had their father been home just “maybe” they might have.
All they’re doing is serving their REAL FATHER though....acting a thug, just like him. Stealing, killing, destroying since before the Garden of Eden....
These guys better get life without parole.
I’m holding out for lethal injection... And I hope it’s botched up and takes at least two hours on the gurney.
This is florida, gordon should get the death penalty.
In the 9 years since we left Polk County, Lakeland has continued to get worse. A nice small city in 1979. A compost heap now, IMO. Crime is terrible, the Lakeland police are worthless, the same clowns for the last 25 years rotating between city council, county commission, mayor and city manager. Musical chairs with the same players for decades. No wonder nothing changes. One big, never ending circle jerk.
They'll cop a plea to some minor assault charge and do a few months in the slammer... out in a month due to overcrowding.
Their rap sheets probably already have several such "convictions".
This is Florida - none of them will ever breath the free air again.
This is my home in Polk Co. Florida - none of them will ever breath the free air again.
One at least will be headed to death row up in Starke. The others, because of the killings combined with their previous record(s) will be doing life with no chance of parole - ever.
Kill people, steal their cars, shoot at the police/sheriff....you’re going away for good........
I am really heart broken over the fact that 0bama has incited so much hatred in our country between blacks and everyone else.
One more and they can have a basketball team.
I read a story about this yesterday. An official said the women were killed in an unspeakable manner.
More community organizers locked up.
Patricia Moran
They’re saying that the two women were so mutilated that the Sherriff and Officers were to shook up to talk about it.
Freakin’ Sub-humans.
