Neither Judaism nor Christianity (sans Catholicism) force celibacy on those in particular ministries.
Nor do they have nuns.
So the question is moot.
Scripture does speak to this:
Matt 19:12 "For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it."I guess the words I put in bold give Catholicism an out.
Which begs the question, can women be eunuchs?
