I made the mistake of trying Wondershare converter to convert .pdf to .pub. It doesn't. Instead it demands about $100 for the "authorized" version. When I try to delete it from my PC it won't delete (using the control panel) and whenever I bring-up a .pdf file it now has "Wondershare" stamped all over it.
How do I get this malware out of my PC? Thanks.
bfl
wow.
BTW, has anyone noticed that the new LibreOffice lets you open PDF files and edit them??
Although I do not know what a .pub file is
You need to totally remove it. You also need to tell Windows that it needs to always open PDF files with a PDF reader or in a browser and not Wonderfile.
I don’t remember how to do that though
Thanks for all the advice. I finally man-handled it out by going into each program file and slaughtering it with my Sword of Righteousness. Took time, but it’s dead.
lol.
true though
isn’t download.com almost the same as CNET?
Don't use CNET period! All their downloads contain sypyware, malware, bullshit. CNET should die.
I have lots of browser trojans but using Malwarebytes, Ad Aware, Ad Blocker Plus, No Script and Bluhell seems to work
and she’s not only merely dead, she’s really most sincerely dead.
It definitely works if it is on there before the virus hits.
It wasn’t but it keeps them suppressed now
Interesting about CNET.
I downloaded Iobit twice from there and it had a virus attached to it. I had to use Malwarebytes in safemode to remove it - twice; in about three years or so.
I thought the problem was with Iobit. I just figured CNET would be ok.
Thanks for the info on not using CNET.
