" My wife and I rescued a little kitten who showed up in our yard a month ago with a broken leg. We took her to the vet and they put a splint on it hoping it might fuse the broken bones together but it didn’t so they had to amputate her leg. We keep her with us now. We call her ‘’Peanut’’ because she’s so little."

God bless you and your wife.

Why compound the FReeper’s pain by being so damned insensitive?

Some of the most deeply decent people I've come across post on these pages. Unfortunately, there are a handful of asses, too, and they crawl out when someone's pet dies.

Please, those who have lost friends in fur, most of us understand your loss and grief, and we pray for you and your friends. Ignore the hollow-hearted others.

Woke up at 3:30am. Mao is ecstatic that I’m up! “Brush me!” Head butts! I’m exhausted, but smiling.

So sorry for the loss of your Cuddles. Prayers being said for your kitty and for you in your greif. I believe that we get to be with our little friends again, when our time here is done. But it still hurts so much when they go. Our Lord comfort you through your sadness . Amen

God bless you at least Cuddles did not die outside or alone. Despite the outcome, YOU MADE THE DIFFERENCE. And we need more of that on this world.

Thanks

Which brings up another thought although this post is old. How early are we neutering the kittens. I have a very special situation at my home where the cats are priority. We do not neuter before 9 or 10 months as kittens need to mature. Of course, don’t laugh, I am obsessive and when they start going outside, I go with them. Our 2 whites were a year old before I started to take them out. Now they stay very close they are homebodies. LOL We have a cat door and 50 acres.

My Bacci is almost 15 but superfit. We got him from a shelter and at 3 months he was already neutered. I totally understand why this is done.

My 2 cents.

Thank you all for your kind words. They are such a comfort. Hugs to all your family pets.

Cuddle’s sister is recovering well and is under my chair trying to get our big 100 lb slobber bucket to play. She wants desparately to be outside with her cat family but I’m not risking it in freezing temperatures and her needing to heal.

Losing a loved pet is hard enough, harder still when folks decide it’s somehow appropriate to scorn when one is grieving.

Praying for you and yours.
