I didn’t ever get a digital converter box. The antennaes billed as such don’t work. I’m sure this will be on you tube eventually. You were the best emcee, better than Secret.

The old bow tie antennas work very well. I’ve tried all the HDTV antennas I could find, but an old buck fifty bow tie with a signal booster blows all the others away.
Thank you for all those great pings and hosting the threads, but I understand after ten years wanting the two nights a week back.
Aww . . . heck. It really is the end of an era. Thank you so much, Jonny, for being such an astute and amusing guide to the craziness of AI!! I’m sorry I haven’t been around much the last couple of years or so. I have also been focusing on other projects (my screenwriting group meets on Wednesday nights) so I have sympathy for your need to reclaim some time for other things. But I’ll miss knowing this group is here!!!!!!!!! Please feel free to ping me anytime for anything you think might interest me. (And the rest of you, too, as well as SJ!)

Jonny-Before my baby was born I had so much fun on your thread. After she was born, I just got too busy and wasn’t able to watch but I enjoyed getting your pings. Thanks for all the laughs.
No antenna works where I live. Fox is too cheap to unlock for AI yet everybody’s been showing the Super Bowl for free, The Oscars, etc. Indy 500, Rose Parade. I can usually watch everything on line for nothing. Fox is slightly greedy with their news and regular network. They have a terrible Roku channel. The alphabet channels have live streaming but Fox news makes you click on icons. Life’s too short. lol
Jonny I can say that I have truly enjoyed the AI threads. Mostly because of you. I wish you well and hope to continue to see you around FR. Godspeed. Great memories.
Catching up, finally watching Tuesday’s show. It was really in poor taste the way they voted Jax off the island without the audience. Really really sad. I’m sure they were watching on monitors but after she was kicked off, “backstage,” she just walked quietly off stage to her parents. She deserved to be in front of the whole audience and have Ryan say, “let’s give it to her one more time, Jax!” And get that audience applause that softens the pain. But she had to descend to dead silence. Then they open the curtains to the audience and they cheer the top two. I think it was poorly done. And I was never a Jax fan.
Again, I’m still on Tuesday’s show... JLo looks like she had a roll in the hay right before going on stage, and Clark has a lovely shade of apricot lipstick applied to his plump kissers.
Both guys do sound good. Even when not watching the screen. Nick is dressed like the handyman guy on One Day at A Time... Anyone remember that old show where Mackenzie Phillips was the daughter but strung out on 15 different drugs while taping?
Is that Fallout Boy the two are singing with?
Nick seems more comfortable. Just starting the finale show.

Nice to see your ten years all put up in the intro. I saw most of those years, not the first two you did. The one where the black basket ball player’s daughter won was the first season I saw, and I didn’t follow the thread yet. The Cookie season was my first with the thread and loving the thread. The whole family was watching and that finale ran long. Our DVR stopped at the worst possible time. Ryan was announcing the winner, and he said “The winner of American Idol is.... David” click, off. Whaaaa??? Both finalists were David’s!! We all had to race to the computers in the other room and search! Lol. Half the family wanted the Monchichi and the other wanted the Cookie.
Yeah, which Idol contestant will be remembered for “centuries,” asked Ryan. I don’t even remember the names of the winners of half the years. The Adam Lambert season - who was the other guy? Then Lee DeWyze... I remember the name but couldn’t pick him or his voice out in a lineup. There are a few more I don’t remember. I liked Scotty and Meatloaf. Don’t remember the rest.
Good times. Lol.
The few Jacksons do a cheesy medley with Buckwheat. Meh.
JLo appears to be wearing black underwear with some lace under it. She sure is fascinated with her own body.
