This is the announcement of the formation of the American Whig Party. We are an alternative to the Communist Democrats and the Chamber-of-Communism Republicans.

I thought the idea was to call the present-day Republican Party the Whigs to imply that they were on the way out, just like the Whigs. There actually is a group out there already that calls itself the Modern Whig Party.

And then there was the True Whig Party of Liberia: "Founded in 1869, the party dominated Liberian politics from 1878 until 1980 to the extent that the country was virtually a one-party state, although opposition parties were never outlawed." [Wikipedia]

Hate to break it to ya, Laz, but we’re beyond partisan politics at this point. The fix isn’t going to include voting, unless it’s from the rooftops.

I have been reading about the Whigs. Do you think Trump falls into the common sense side of the Whig party philosophy?

I don’t know; I haven’t researched. I will, hopefully, put together an editorial today about Mr. Trump.
