A San Antonio, Texas couple had build a 'tiny house' to commit themselves to 'green living' but the entire home ended up being stolen.
Casey Friday says, "It was depressing, devastating, made me angry and shocked all at the same time."

Less is more.
If you can buy a home outright, that frees you from monthly mortgage interest payments and you can enjoy life more.
Of course, its not ideal for a big family that needs to spread its wings but for singles, young couples and older empty nesters, downsizing may just be the ticket.
‘tiny house’ - a way of getting impressionable people to spend twice as much money for half as much house.
Middle class greenies being relegated to trailer trash status, with style.
Cute trailers are still trailers. They need to be put in trailer parks with the other trailer trash.
People who want to pay all cash upfront - its not how much square footage you need but how the square footage is maximized.
If a tiny house doesn’t have the right layout, I wouldn’t want to live in it. I need room to stretch out and I need a place to sit down and eat and room to sleep comfortably.
Most people are surprised on how well they can do in a smaller home.
[ Boy, I WOULD invest in a tornado shelter if I had one of those things, though. ]
Just buy an old acrage with a completely dilapedated house and a seprate cellar. Plunk the teeny house right ontop of the cellar, cut a hole in the flood and bingo bango instant storm cellar basement!
Good Move!
It is wonderful out here with the constant sea breeze!
And if you want to move from place to place, that too is a lifestyle choice.
People shouldn’t be tied down to living on a fixed plot of land if they don’t want to.
The nomadic lifestyle like that lived by the Romany, appeals to some people. Nothing quite like the freedom to live wherever you want.
Some NYC efficiencies have to be seen to be believed. Living in one of those and you become space-cheap for the rest of your life.
“Manufactured Homes”
Manufactured homes built with 2 by 6 walls and all the same trusses are delivered and bolted to your foundation. They are a good answer when no one is willing to build a stick built home for you in a remote area.
“They need to be put in trailer parks with the other trailer trash.”
I have never lived in a trailer park and don’t know anyone who has lived in one but I certainly wouldn’t refer to those who do as “trailer trash”.
Most are just people who cannot afford to live anyplace else.
.
LOL. The good news for the thieves is that, given the value of the house, they will only be charged with a misdemeanor.
I have seen some of those tiny places! I can not imagine living like that just to be in NEW YORK CITY!
Can you add a garage to it?
Saw a few episode of the tiny house series on HGTV and one was like 182 square feet for 40 grand. A little tight, but one person could do it. You might get a better deal on a used travel trailer which could be moved easily.
No interest in living in them either!
People who move those huge units into Florida parks are not looking for economy, but location and “club” atmosphere.
150-200K and rental fees forever...not cheap living!
Anyone with a brain who owns a boat, travel trailer, stock trailer or any other such item which can be towed with a vehicle knows to lock the hitch and/or wheels unless they want the thing to disappear, attached to the trailer hitch of a thief’s pickup or SUV...
I live in a rural area where there is every type of dwelling on acreage, including dolled-up storage sheds that look like that tiny house, conventional dwellings and lots of trailers/mobile homes-you can call us rednecks-but at least one of my neighbors would open a can of whoopass on someone who referred to as trash, thank you.
No garage, no tool bench...no way for me to live there! I would give up my office, sewing and craft rooms before my garage tool bench! LOL
