Sarah Palin has sparked outrage by posting pictures on Facebook of her son standing on her dog.

I’m late to this thread but if I get this right some folks here think that it’s just dandy that kids stand on dogs. LOL!
I was thinking it would be kind of cool to stand on Boofy while doing the funky chicken! LOL just kidding
What relevance does that question have to the one that I have asked you, twice?
It seems your concern over discussing another persons child stems from the child being a member of a family of the political class. Or are you on record on FR as being against discussing another individuals child for any reason, regardless of family background or prestige?
Now..dang it! I don’t have a clue who is on the “committee”.
Since I really do plan on emailing Sarah (no /s) you will have to be the chosen recipient of the reply. If there is one.
It’s a dirty job...but somebody has to do it. :)
Could be. I saw it originally on Facebook this morning, I just knew it would become.... well, what it has become. :)
I don’t understand your statement.
I don’t have a problem with Sarah Palin.
If you have a problem with me being a Christian just say so.
I do not live in a liars world.
Some have taken that position; some have not. Who would have thought this would be a controversial issue on FR?
I cringed when I saw this on FaceBook. I’m so sorry Sarah posted it. This one should have remained in the family album. Their sweet dog is very tolerant and obviously not hurt in anyway, but kids have to be taught to treat pets with love and care. Instead of a photo, I would have been smacking and lecturing my kid.
I took the time to read the thread...it is pretty amazing.
Your highness...
I just took my two Labs out back and sacrificed them at the temple of Roosteredone.
Their crime?
Letting my grandkids play with them, yes that includes standing on them. (Which the dogs loved.)
The dogs begged for forgiveness, but I was unrelenting. They must pay for their sins...
I pray you appove.......
[Obviously the dog did and it was the dogs exclusive call in the matter.]
Did Jill tell you so?
She was especially trained for at least 4 months to be a companion/guardian dog for Trig. They just got her last August.
I would imagine she is trained to put up with almost anything from him, without complaint.
Thank you, onyx, for your excellent post.
We have a lab mix puppy 7 months old tomorrow. is favorite thing is to lay either on me or my wife. He only weighs 40lbs but when he plops down. He actually walks behind your feet when you are sitting and rolls forward so you rub his belly with your feet.
WOW I forgot about that but reading your comment brought the memory right back. I used to love that show.
Indeed. Hopefully that area of Trig’s education will (or has been) addressed.
Otherwise, he’s going to have a painful lesson (in the form of a dog bite) when he tries something with another dog that *his* dog has been trained to tolerate.
That is, perhaps, the unfortunate side effect of training a dog to tolerate more than, perhaps, another dog would. That child may not learn to view a dog as a living being worthy of basic respect and dignity as part of God’s creation. The responsible thing to do is to train both parties, extensively and to reinforce the lessons until both parties completely understand the appropriate boundaries.
And good old Mother Jefferson with her endless criticism of Weezie.
Thanks for the heads up. Yup, the dog’s not going to put up with it if he doesn’t want. I’m always amazed how much they tolerate from kids. I had a huge shepherd mix and my little nephew was playing on him. Stepped right on his jewels and all he did was yelp.
I had no idea that the dog was a young as she is, she wasn’t a long time family member and was a trained companion dog.
That makes it all the sadder.
Thanks. I was hoping someone would post that.
