I cringed when I saw this on FaceBook. I’m so sorry Sarah posted it. This one should have remained in the family album. Their sweet dog is very tolerant and obviously not hurt in anyway, but kids have to be taught to treat pets with love and care. Instead of a photo, I would have been smacking and lecturing my kid.

Indeed. Hopefully that area of Trig’s education will (or has been) addressed.
Otherwise, he’s going to have a painful lesson (in the form of a dog bite) when he tries something with another dog that *his* dog has been trained to tolerate.
That is, perhaps, the unfortunate side effect of training a dog to tolerate more than, perhaps, another dog would. That child may not learn to view a dog as a living being worthy of basic respect and dignity as part of God’s creation. The responsible thing to do is to train both parties, extensively and to reinforce the lessons until both parties completely understand the appropriate boundaries.

It's a dog, just like a bear is a bear. It looks great in the pic this time but maybe not next time. I mean tell it to the guy who was eaten by the bears...
I wish people would leave the romantic notions out of this stuff. All dogs bite.
Someday this dog may have a different agenda and reach up and remove the child on his own terms. Or just flip the kid off and he hits something on the way down.

That surprises me a little, onyx. (Not your kid and you may or may not have smacked Trig as you think you might.) I thought you realized she is a great deal shrewder lady than that. (She stops wild game cold and can prepare them for the freeze.) She's one keen observer of current events and still owes a lot of people a lot of grief. Instead, she takes it ALL on herself...like Someone Else in History did.
And Sara's gibes at the idiots and near-idiots are well-deserved, well-timed, and well-placed.
Perhaps this is one way of her saying she doesn't want to run for office in 2016. Perhaps...not at all.

What a harsh reaction, both to these sweet photos, and what you would have done to your kid.
