People Magazine has named Kate Upton the Sexiest Woman Alive, the publication announced on Thursday.
The announcement was made at the inaugural People Magazine Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, making Upton the first woman to ever receive the title, reports Entertainment Tonight.
Upton, best known for her work as Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover model, accepted the award in front of a live audience.

Well, one might attempt the fool’s errand of selecting the sexiest women in human history.
I recently saw a list of “sexiest celebrities” (or was it “hottest celeebrities”) (all women), absurdly claiming “of all time” which had the breadth to include Dame Helen Mirren, who was at her prime in the 1960’s (though I think they were doing it to make the point that she was still attractive even in old age).
One wonders how modern “celebrity” pulchritude would really stack up against, Helen of Troy, or Cleopatra, or Theodora (Justinian’s wife), but, as I say, the comparison is a fool’s errand.

As regards all of our preferences, it seems to me most are talking more about sexy than beautiful. Lot of very good looking, sexy women in the world. But damn few *beautiful* women. A very select group.
Although she is gone, I still consider Natalie Wood to be a member of that group.
