Jif. Hands down. The best there is. Can't go wrong with a product that at one time had a genuine American sweetheart as it's spokeswoman. That being the lovely(late) Annette Funicello.

Jif, Skippy, a whole raft of ersatz “peanut butter” aren’t worth the jars they’re packed in, and really ought not be allowed the term “peanut butter.” They are really more of a peanut flavored Crisco.

REAl peanut butter consists of finely ground peanuts and maybe a little salt. NOTHING MORE.

Arrowhead Mills makes a good smooth, and a brand called “Santa Cruz” is also pretty good.

Deaf Smith Brand was the best when it existed and Ox Heart was almost it’s equal in the Northeast markets. Sadly, both are gone.

But we need not settle for flavored hydrogenated vegetable oil.
