This story passed through my social media feed the other day and I couldn’t resist giving it a virtual ‘shout out’.
Discount Mattress and Furniture in the Airport Mall in Bangor currently has their windows decorated with a nativity, and the words ‘Jesus is the Reason for the Season.’
Nothing wrong with that, right? Jesus is the reason for this season after all.
Well, apparently some “window watchers” are not having a happy holiday upon seeing this display because the furniture store recently posted the following message to their Facebook Page –
“We are getting some calls that people don’t like our windows at Discount Mattress & Furniture /Airport Mall. We understand that you will not shop here and we are sorry if it offends you..To those that asked us to take the scene down…we are sorry that you don’t believe as we do but the windows are staying as displayed until January 1st. If our sales decline due to our window scenes then we will shut our doors and still give the glory to the Lord.”
In this day of political correctness around the holidays, this business owner definitely deserves a pat on the back for standing firm. Thankfully, they did not retreat from the vocal few that have nothing better to do than to try and ruin Christmas for the rest of us. I know where I’ll be buying my next couch.

Good! I would bet they gain, not lose sales.
If I lived anywhere near there, I’d buy new mattresses for my entire house from them.
Do they ship? Next time I need furniture I would love to do business with them.
It would be nice to see more business owners doing this.

Hopefully, those windows were painted from the inside, making it less likely that some angry atheist can walk by and destroy the artwork. Good for him.
Atheists are such bedwetters - they can put up billboards mocking Christianity and that's OK, but a business owner's display of their faith is "offensive."

Come on now. We all know its liberals who’ve found yet another thing be ‘outraged’ about. Nothing will please them. These are the very same libs that describe themselves as ‘open minded’ and ‘tolerant’. They’re quick to detect ‘hate’ in others but never seem to detect it themselves. Essentially they’re demanding that the rest of the world dance to their tune or not at all. So much for diversity....

Seasons are caused by the relative orientation of the earth with the sun. The tilt of the earth causes seasons. Are you saying that Jesus is the cause of snow in the winter time? I don't think so. The seasons are less significant in tropical areas such as the holy land (where Jesus spent his entire life) and their effect is inverted when you get into the southern hemisphere.
My son, who goes to college, asked an atheist a question that stopped them cold.
