INDEPENDENCE, Mo. A 25-year-old woman and her 51-year-old mother face charges of child abuse and neglect after police say the younger woman poured extremely hot water on her daughter, not yet three years old.
Doctors at Childrens Mercy have been treating the child, born January 20, 2012, for second-degree burns on 12 percent of her body, including her face and back. The girl was brought to the hospital on Saturday,December 13 at about 9:30 p.m., over 24 hours after the abuse occurred.
A child services investigator says the victim twice told her Mommy is mean, and stated that the bathtub water did it. She told the case worker that the water was in the blue bucket and that Mommy did it.

And if they ever interview the friends/ family members they will say: “Well we knew she had problems but....” or my favorite: “I just knew she was a bad’un.”
Ain’t that the truth?
Mommy needs to be “disciplined” in a like fashion.
The only thing worse than a parent incapable of loving his or her own child would be a government in charge of licensing parenthood.
Tragedies like these are no reason to embrace fascism.
Agreed. You need a license to drive, fish, hunt, or own a firearm. This woman should be sterilized.

> I wonder what the kid did that made mommy that mad.
I’m surprised no one else has said this:
NOTHING that a 2 yr old child can do could possibly justify this woman’s actions. What the kid might have done is irrelevant.
Oh absolutely. 100%. Please do not think I meant it could be justified. All I wondered is what that child could possibly have done to make the mother that mad. Not that she was right or reasonable or ANY SUCH THING. It is irrelevant to the charge. Only relevant to the mothers mental problems.
