I just heard a conversion, on the radio, between the show's host and a doctor concerning flu shots. The host asked, "What do you tell people who won't get a flu shot because they say it makes them sick?" The doctor replied, "Well, after you get the shot, you can't get the flu, but you might FEEL like you have the flu because of the reaction to the shot by your immune system". I don't know, but if I take something that makes me feel like I have the flu, I think I'd be safe in saying what Monica Lewinski's boyfriend's wife said, "What difference does it make".
I don't like being "pushed" into anything....A car, an insurance policy, etc..etc...
I don't like someone trying to make me feel guilty...to get me to do something.
You can do what you want.....and that's your standpoint.
See the link I posted in comment 99.
I don’t understand what you’re getting at with that comment. Please explain...
Let me clarify....I've heard some companies are demanding you take the shot or lose your job.
But the form I saw...was if you DONT take the shot you MIGHT have to wear a mask...IF there is a pandemic break-out of the flu in your area.
Some at the company I work for...think they need to counsel us on taking the shot. And left out the part about PANDEMIC break-outs of the flu. I can read....and I can still decide for myself...if I'm taking the flu shot or not. I won't ever take it....fwiw-
No, the statement that came down from the CEO was that you either get the Flu shot, or you wear a mask from November through May while on campus. She works at a hospital, but she does not have patient contact other than passing by them occasionally in the hallway (she is an admin).
No flu shot for me. Not for several years now. Seems like the last couple I took made me sick for about a week.
The flu shots much of the time are a result of a wrong prognosis for the variety of flu coming down.
It is a highly successful immunogen. That is why one doesn’t get flu or colds in the summer. Flu vaccine is less effective at preventing flu. Sometimes it is the wrong vaccine due to a bad guess as to what type is coming our way. Around here, among the people I know who get the shots several also get the flu every year. If you get off on that needle then have at it. I will have fewer colds and flu than you will through the years. So far it is none in 9 years, ditto my family and friends for however long they have been doing the vitamin D.
According to that publication, the infected GOT the SAME STRAIN of flu that they’d been vaccinated against.
Not just infected with another strain of flu that wasn’t covered by the vaccine. They got the one that WAS covered by the vaccine.
It depends upon your age and the type of flu going around.
Regular flu tends to kill the very young and very old. People with weak immune systems and people with breathing problems.
Animal/human hybrid flus are a whole different matter. Bird flu, swine flu. These provoke a massive immune response in the young and healthy.
The flu being a respiratory disease, this ‘cytokine storm’ occurs in the lungs and the infected drown in their own antibodies.
This is what happened on a massive scale during with 1918 flu. Children would kiss their healthy parents goodbye in the morning and when they returned home from school find that they were orphans. It killed that quickly.
Fortunately we haven’t had a bird or swine flu hybrid of that ferocity in the years since, but the possibility is why public health types get very nervous when one begins to show up.
So really it all depends on how you like to gamble with your health. I get the flu shot every year. And I’ve had the pneumonia vaccine as well. Having experienced serious asthma I don’t take lung disease lightly.
“What exactly is the flu? Is that when youre barfing? Or pneumonia-like symptoms?”
The real flu is a lung disease.
The form....I saw did not say that.
If it comes down to that here...I will do a work around....Two can play this game.
Not to mention the mercury and other unpleasant ingredients in that syringe.
The idea of vitamin D being a successful immunogen against influena is questionable, but, albeit, promising. But, there are too many other factors in question when it comes to the seasonality of the flu. And, you certainly can catch the flu or a cold in the height of summer. Ever heard of summer colds?
The CDC certainly has access to all the studies and data they need. If you choose not to give their findings any credibility, that’s your decision. We can just agree to disagree.
Before you jump to such conclusions, do some research on thimerosal and ethylmercury. You can start here:

I don’t get it because I hate needles.

Not a smidgen of corruption!
Not one!
Don’t need to now. I will not burden myself with the flu shots. They are much more apt to induce an adverse effect than not taking them. Why should someone who does not get flu at all take the stupid shots? I am not a needle junkie. This year’s shot is officially announced to be 1/3 effective. The D-3 supplements are, in my experience and observation, 100% effective. Try it. You’ll like it. And yes, the supps will end very quickly an ongoing bout of flu. I don’t know if that is curing it or just some psychological effect, but the flu is gone. For me it was overnight. For my daughter it was in under 8 hours. 9 years ago. I haven’t had the opportunity to try that again.
