Just before his 1 pm break, El Rushbo reported on an interview he had yesterday with Thomas Sowell, economist, social theorist, political philosopher and author. Sowell told Rush that his biggest fear is that Iran becomes a nuclear power, and attacks the US in some capacity. Sowell believes if Obama is president at the time, he will just surrender to Iran. Stunned, Rush questioned Sowell, who pointed out it only took two bombs for Japan to surrender to the US.
Just how does anyone expect Iran to nuke anything when they don’t have the delivery vehicle to do it?
Val might have to fight Mooch for the Grand Calipha title....
The 1962 film was better...
A “device” in a shipping container...
Let me let you in on a little secret: We watch shipping containers like a hawk. We have ground, air, and space based nuclear sensors. NOTHIGN gets by them.
Anytime that you hear someone in politics sound and alarm look for where they think we should be spending money. Always follow the money.
There comes a time in the history of every nation, especially that most ancient and modern Israel, where she has to put down the throttle. That time is near. Obama stated that he “...has Israel's back: AND “...all options are on the table”.
Israel knew in 2008 and today, Obama is the MB Manchurian Candidate.
Two days ago the Israeli Air Force destroyed advanced missile systems in Syria, bound for Hizbollah. They stated red lines and they enforce them.
Obama pink lines just seem to melt away...
Kinda like how we secure our diplomatic facilities?
Really? You think comparing Obama selling arms to Syrian muslim rebels is somehow even remotely related to standing guard against nuclear threats?
The pres failing to give CBA is radically different than the NCA taking him out of the loop should he fail to act against a nuclear threat.
I know that we have the capability to monitor such things. The question is what does Obama do when he is told that a hinky container is headed our way? Based on his past behavior - jack squat. Then what?
This administration's permissiveness toward terrorists and criminals allows for such a scenario.
I’m going to get hold of a copy of that book, sounds interesting.
Japan was also a homogenous culture where the vast majority of the population worshiped their head of state as a god.
Yes, we have a little bit of that here in the US right now admittedly. But the response of most Americans to losing a major population center or two to nuclear fire would be breathtaking. If a US President didn’t respond immediately by anihilating the attacker we’d have a quick but overwlmingly popular rebellion, with the full support of a good number of states governments.
After which the attacker would be annihalated by the new government.
“Then what?”
Then the NCA takes him out of the loop and takes whatever action they need to take.
That's like comparing apples and pyramids. At the time it was nuked, Japan was facing disaster. Its navy had been sunk, its armies were in retreat on all fronts, B-29's were burning down its cities, and it faced a new war with the Soviet Union. The US may be in bad shape under Obama, but our situation is nothing like what Japan faced in the summer of 1945.
I think that has been their stated action plan all along: Loads of terrorist attacks to overwhelm the system.
e now have millions, yes, million, of Somali, Paki, Iranian, Pali, and other Muslims here in the US. Those “mosques” are nothing but terrorist headquarters, each communicating with the other. They have enough to go ahead and make a mess.
Ultimately, someone down the line asks, “On what authority?” I am asking a sincere question here because this is not a movie or action novel. If the captain of a destroyer is given an order to fire upon a foreign vessel, he is likely to ask who is authorizing the action.
You have stated something that, unfortunately, is not immediately obvious to far too many people. It may become clear soon enough, though.
“On what authority?”
Are you thinking the president could wake up one morning and just decide to nuke Canada and no one in the country could stop him, that his orders to nuke are absolute?
Think about that for a minute.
No, I do not.
A) Japan had no nukes, and no air defences worth speaking of to shoot down additional nuke-armed B-29s (not that we had more bombs, but they didn’t know that at the time).
B) The US has thousands of nukes, plus the ability (even after all of Obama’s cuts to the military) to bomb Iran back to the Stone Age with conventional weapons.
C) If he tried that, I would bet that the military would revolt. There is NO PROVISION in the Constitution that allows a President to surrender to another nation.
