The past is new again for agent 007: The next James Bond film will be called "Spectre."
Director Sam Mendes announced the name of the 24th official Bond film Thursday at England's Pinewood Studios.
Austrian actor Christoph Waltz will join Daniel Craig in the cast. Craig makes his fourth appearance as the rugged British secret service agent.

Craig's portrayal of Bond has been closest to the way Ian Fleming wrote the character (and closest in looks to the way he envisioned him as well).
The charisma and humour of the Sean Connery flicks has their place, but the Bond of the books is not a bon vivant. He is a hard man who kills for a living and indulges in sex, alcohol, cigarettes, and gambling in between missions because he's bored.
There's a long section in Live and Let Die (I think) where Bond is on a plane over the Atlantic, and he spends the entire time contemplating the fact that the airplane is an fallible invention and the only reason it doesn't drop into the ocean is that it is maintained by fallible people, and overall living is just cheating death. It's a great literary moment, but it's also a great insight into Bond's character. He's a nihilist. Daniel Craig's brooding Bond is right in line with that.
Yeah the Ryan films are ok but the best was hunt for red October. His real money maker is the Jones films. That’s why he said he wants to do another one. Cause he knows he can get that $20 million paycheck.
and that’s all his fan’s want to see him in.
Grant was approached but said he would not do sequels.
I guess I spoke too soon. My wife was watching TV last night while I was reading a book. The preview for “Unbroken” came on and caught my eye as I read the book last year. I will definitely go see that movie but NOT on Christmas day when it comes out.
Christmas is not a day to go to a theater.
Thanx
“Unbroken” is on my list of things to do also. Even the wife-unit called it interesting...and she’s not normally a war movie fan. May have to make an exception to my “rent it at Redbox” rule.
Just saw it recently. Can’t stand the narration. Ford said he hated it. The director did too. The studio made them put it in.
