We rightly criticise Islam, but in doing so we must not forget the barbarism of some other non-Christian religions.
While, after the coming of Jesus, in the parts of the world that adopted Christianity animal sacrifices have disappeared, they are still practised elsewhere to this day.

I think Joanna Lumley was a cow in another life...
or maybe in this one?
oh but I thought all cultures are the same /s
Having participated in both, I can as assure you that hunting is a more horrifying death for the animal. Do you condemn freeper hunters more than Hindus?
There was a “Far Side” cartoon where an American Indian was holding up an odd-shaped bone or piece of cartilage and saying to another Indian: “We don’t know what this is, but it’s the only part of the buffalo we don’t use.”
I find it ironic that the same people who hold up the American Indians as good, because “they used every bit of the buffalo” excoriate modern slaughter houses because they use every bit of the cow.
Indians only used every bit of a buffalo when it was convenient.
Nope. Check my posts and you'll find I've commented a few times that we run bison and would never sell one of our animals for halal or kosher slaughter. I don't care how sharp the knife is or how great the butcher is I want to know that our animal left this world instantly.
Like having its head chopped off in one fell swoop?

Do you condemn hunters?
Digging to find the perceived flaws in other cultures is wasteful. Time, thought, effort - all wasted.
Look at the savages, har har har.
People complain about kosher slaughter, too. It carries the same weight as this - none at all. I have slaughtered my share of fowl, deer, pigs, cows, and so on. Messy, bloody work.
I can think of a thousand ways in which Western culture is preferable without having to rubbish others.
This adds no light, only heat, but I guess you need to feel superior, so there is that.

It’s worth watching the whole thing.
There was a time when countries represented singular if not similar cultures with the same language and religions and the inhabitants/tribes had common bonds.. The borders defined these common cultures where people lived with minimal ethnic friction. They had wars but they were beyond their borders.
The political and academic elites push for multiculturalism because they use it to advance their own interests by playing people against each other. My concern is they plan on using it in the USA when they feel the time is ripe for turmoil. They can use their spin and media to turn us into anarchy and the Balkans so they can then plunder all of us as happened in many countries before. They want us unarmed too so that they can easily fund and pick winners.
Apples and oranges.
How we take wild animals and how we dispatch domestic animals that are totally in our stewardship are two different things. It's like trying to compare how a military conducts its business to the daily duties of a police department.
Nuts. If you can hunt where the death takes minutes at times, you can chop off a head in fractions of a second.
Don’t try to rationalize your way out of that one.
Well, if you think that a beheading is painless then you try it out and let the rest of us know how that goes for you.
Wow. You’re immune to thought.
No, I just see a difference between hunting wild game and slaughtering domestic animals.
Just the same as I see a difference between a soldier shooting a terrorist and an executioner carrying out a death sentence. They're just not the same context.
And, again, my family refuses to sell our animals for halal or kosher slaughter. It's our business and our choice. It doesn't mean we're vegan or animal rights freaks, it just means we care about our critters and don't want them slaughtered that way. Stunbolt them first is all we ask.
