St. Louis police officers condemned the NFL's Rams today, calling their pre-game display of the "hands up don't shoot" gesture to be "tasteless, offensive and inflammatory." The lengthy statement issued by the St. Louis Police Officers Association demanded Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Chris Givens, and Kenny Britt be punished for the act:

don’t hold your breath....
Going to be a lot less “Hey! You’re so-and-so from the Rams. Here’s a warning” and more “Hey! You’re so-and-so from the Rams. Here’s your ticket.”
Now I hope they lose the rest of their games. lol
Now, if they spiked the ball after a TD they would be in real trouble.
Lies are always offensive.
How about a two game suspension WITHOUT PAY just for being stupid and drawing negative attention to their team....
How about telling them there will be no more police protection at their home games.
The NFL has gone the way of the NBA. Gansta NFL gear is marketed to the lowest common denominator.

if as cited in the headline, city cops are calling for punishment for a free speech action, that is a violation of the Constitution. After all they are representatives of the city government.
If it is just a union thug calling for the punishment of ill mannered, ill informed pampered NFL thugs, all we have is two distrustful actions that should be condemned, but not by the city or any government entity but maybe by civilized people. The NFL and the Rams’ reaction? Now THAT is a different story.
You said it.
Here are a few examples of what they will contribute:
