Just guessing you folks never went to high school in the 1970s. I did. Perhaps the experience has clouded my judgment! :)

All I am saying is by definition, very short skirts are not an extremely conservative clothing style.

Not saying I don’t like women wearing them, or some women don’t look good in them.

they were almost done with college in the 70s. Maybe my mom did wear those skirts but by the time the late 80s/90s came it was none of that for her daughters so skirts wore worn below the knees!

Mini-skirts
Hot pants
Hip huggers
Halter tops

We were not exactly the generation of conservative attire, were we? All I needed to be happy was a broken in pair if Levis, halter top, and work shirt to be happy.

No, not High School. Some of us were in Elementary School in the 70's. Mini skirts were a problem. Girls who wore mini skirts were known as loose girls. Some girls wore shorts under the skirts because "boys will be boys".

The _resident's daughters have no business showing off their upper thighs during a white hut event.

I graduated HS in the 70’s. The first daughters would not have been allowed to wear those skirts at my school, and I did not go to Catholic school either.

I went in the 1960s. In my neck of the woods, high-school girls were not allowed to dress like that in the 1970s.

Right? lol. I’m a woman (middle aged, married for 25 yrs, 4 kids) and I remember my teen years. And I got to relive them with my four kids, one of whom is still in high school.
