Please ping me, when you do!
Best,

Thank you for both those links, great reditions of wonderful music.
I too had to learn and sing Latin carols. Beautiful songs. The words were timeless.
Life is different without Latin in the center of song and worship.
A few years ago someone who was raised Protestant told me how Catholics endured a dead faith listening to words they didn’t understand in meaningless ritual.
I said no, of course, that is not true, every Latin Missal had English translations on the opposing page.
And every halfway intelligent Catholic had a working knowledge of Latin. She was flabbergasted.
Maybe we should try to write a new one?
In my very young days, I was a singer and songwriter; that didn’t go very far, because serious family issues intervened, and I decided that taking care of my folks was more important.
But I’ve always thought that we need a new Christmas song/carol..................

Oh Holy Night, easily. While it’s great to hear the pop stars belt it out,my favorite rendition on you tube is by Libera,
an English boy’s choir. Sissel also has a great rendition,
except it is sung in Norweigian.
Also love TSOs Christmas canon, but partly for
sentimental reasons-met my wife of 33 years in a college
Baroque music history class and the prof called it “that
God awful canon” I always enjoyed it.
I love the one that tells us “Aye, and therefore be merrie, set sorrow aside.”
There is a magnificent stamp this year that depicts the wise men and the star. It’s mysterious and beautiful.
Oh Holy Night, sung by John Berry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq9c4C2573o
I Wonder as I Wander.
Oh Holy Night.
Oh Little Town of Bethlehem.
It Came Upon a Midnight Clear.
I hear you LOL. Have a candy cane.
Philippians 4:6:
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Thank you.
