What is this? FreeRepublic is blocked on Amtrak WIFI as an offensive site!

Unfortunately, even if Amtrak is 'fixed' we will never see a NYC Niagara smoking down the Water Level Route again... Nor a Rock Island 5100 trailing a mile of merchandise tooling across the plains at 80 per.
In my estimation, the best way to travel was a good train. The worst way to travel was a bad train.

This is the reason my next kindle will have 4G LTE as well as WiFi.

In my estimation, the best way to travel was a good train. The worst way to travel was a bad train. Having done it yesterday for the first time since I was four years old, some 61 years ago, and noting the lack of rude staff at boarding and TSA screeners ( but I repeat myself), it's the only way to fly!

Then, along with their dedicated trackage, Amtrak needs a real railroad person in charge with the authority to actually act instead of being forced to implement whatever scatterbrained idea some political appointee in District of Corruption decrees. You know that state politicians can do a pretty fine job of that, too. A couple or so years ago, a California State legislator with a (D) behind her name, introduced a bill to require trains to swerve to avoid hitting people and animals on the tracks! I kid you not. . . and, no, it was not introduced on April 1st.

They missed South Dakota too.

Let me guess...
The bill passed and Gov. Moonbeam signed it.

I would have expected that piece of wonderment to breeze right through. Especially when we hear things like
THIS coming from the left coast. ;-)

Not if they’re blocking the closest thing we have to a real news network. Flawed though it be, and though it sometimes disappoints; FNC is the closest thing we have to a real news network. NO...if the bastards are SO far to the left that they block FNC from their TV lineup, I consider it my DUTY to not not support them financially.
I am really disappointed, too; because when I fly out of Baltimore I stay the night before at LaQuinta by the airport the night before, but never noticed the blocked channel. But there are a dozen or more other hotels right there, as well. If LaQuinta wants to do something so assinine and penny ante; while not humongous, it shows me where their heart is, and it’s too blatant to ignore.
I have been attempting to get a phone number for LaQuinta Hdqtrs and let them know how I feel about their choice. Their national website has no phone number at all. They obviously only want impersonal contacts via the internet. Most other businesses have, at the bottom of their Home Page have a “CONTACT US” link. Not this outfit. Can you tell I’m riled?

but you'll be happy to know the vast majority of the passengers on the full train were using Apple products. Guess that's why they can't afford cars...;-')

Well, an interesting change. Today I went on the AMTRAK WIFI on my return leg, different kind of passenger train, a low-riding coach, and I was able to connect to FreeRepublic. BUT, no DU. LOL!
