Burt Reynolds is selling off hundreds of personal items from his Hollywood career because he's facing financial ruin.
More than 600 items, including a Golden Globe award he won for the film 'Boogie Nights', will be put up for auction next month.
A red jacket he wore in the hit film 'Smokey and the Bandit' is also up for offer.

to help pay $1.2M in missed mortgage payments, question: unless it pays it OFF, what's he gonna do when he gets behind the next time? and that time will come without new income
seems he might be better off downsizing his living requirements than lose his house altogether the next time

Not an unusual situation for an aging celebrity. The income slows down but the lavish lifestyle usually doesn't.
Had Burt been content to live in a 4-bedroom colonial, drive a Nissan Murano, and do his clothes shopping at Kohls, his money would easily last him for life.
But no, they still want their mansions, their limousines, their Palm Beach winter homes, etc.
If you aren't doing great box office currently, the residuals only take you so far.

I cant believe he cant get bit parts in movies or TV to supplement his income...
Saw Burt on TV during a Florida State game telecast a few days ago. Is not looking good at all. Almost unrecognizable. The last photo in post 14 hardly resembles him now.
It's beginning to occur to me that we all are really getting older and fast!

He’s always come across as a a-hole

The UK papers report more on oDumbo’s stupidity than the local press.

I last saw him in a couple of episodes of the series “Burn Notice” a few years back.

Should get 3,000 a month in SS and elderly housing in Florida.

Hes always come across as a a-hole.
Disagree, especially with the "always" part.
But he played the devil on an episode of the X-Files that was totally believable!

First thing I thought of when I read that.

X-Files was good, but I fell in love with Anna Torv on “Fringe.”

Gotta wonder if a lot of that money didn't go up his nose or something similar. I'm still wishing him the best, same as I felt about Elvis.
Can't expect someone that famous to remain a "virgin" forever.

X-Files was good...
Remember the episode with BR as the devil which was presented as a musical operetta and had to do with games of chance?

Ever hear the back story on that? Norm MacDonald was great playing Burt on SNL. Plan was that on a future episode, Burt himself was supposed to play a dumber Burt on a Jeopardy skit. But Norm got demoted and the fired for telling too many OJ Simpson jokes as the then President of NBC was a good friend of OJ’s.
Norm is now doing OK now as he steals the show on “Mike Tyson Mysteries.” He plays a guy who’s ex wife who was a witch turned him into a pigeon. She threatened turn him into a pigeon if he ever messed around on her ever again. He did so she did. He’s like Bender only twice as funny. Worth checking out.

Do you have information that contradicts their story? No. I just used my noodle thinking about actors, their lives and their foibles. Lol.
I'm probably as right as the Daily Mail. I don't have much confidence in the media, whether radio, T.V. or written...and NO trust in them to produce anything that doesn't sell toothpaste or, oh, anything.
Maybe I am dead wrong. THAT is possible too.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. DIBS on the wishbone!

Easy. Spending too much so much that they sell off their future rights for a quick few thousand at a discount. So all of the money people think they’re making is long gone.
