The early NFL Thanksgiving game (Lions and Bears) has turned into a liberal lovefest for Detroit's faux renaissance. Phil Simms and Jim Nantz are breathless with their admiration of the so-called "rebirth" of that DemonRAT city. Carefully-staged photos of downtown are then spoken in reverant terms by the announcers. I'm sure See-BS is forcing this narrative.
Please Phil and Jim, just shut up about the failed city and focus on the game! Until and unless free-market Conservatism is allowed to flourish in Detroit, it remains a third world cesspool.
If you dont like what they are saying, why do you pay them to say it?
Phil Simms should join the NFL concussion lawsuit.
He's got symptoms.
I'm not paying them a cent. It's the commies running See-BS that foot the bills to propagate the liberal lies.
I just wanted to see the Bears beat the Lions because that would help the Packers’ standing in the NFC North. As for the city of Detroit: I could see building a wall around it, to keep the inmates from escaping. And a slightly lower wall around Ann Arbor.
Phil Simms is a HUGE Leftist Regressive PC ‘Rat.
Yup, just as Wilson in Seattle is benefitted immeasurably by the threat and presence of “The Beast.” Stafford is fun to watch, though. You can tell he loves playing the game.
Heard em mention something about a renaissance over the last two years and I started to laugh.
Detroit did smoke duh Bears though.
Rush gave Nantz a shout-out yesterday, along with Al Michaels.
It was a crime that Rush Limbaugh was fired from ESPN for telling the truth. And the NFL conspired to keep him from owning a team -- yet they allow a mooselimb to do so.
Speaking as a native Detroiter there is no F’n way Detroit will ever get even close to a sembilance of what it looked like pre-1967.
The majority of the people in the city limits do not possess the education or the work ethic to turn this city around and it will take a hundred years if EVER to get the city to operate like a normal town. The majority of the people in Detroit proper are on the government teat or are too poor or too old to move out.
The liberal gentrifiers can waste their treasure trying to make downtown shine but it is like a silver dollar stuck in a piece of shit.
These people can even pay their water bills!
Voting DemoRat has consequences.
Detroit Denby, Class of 1967
Yeah, the national GOP would do well to promote and capitalize on what republican control of the state has done for Detroit.
Its got a long way to go but the contrast between 50 years of democrat control and 4 years of GOP control is stark. It think its the best chance for meaningful free market outreach to blacks that the GOP will see in a century.
Thanks — you’re the go to guy for all things Michigan and I much appreciate your helpful information.
I love Detroit. So glad she is making a comeback.
Detroit has provided plenty of entrepreneurial opportunities. Tours of ruins, drug manufacturing and distribution, and welfare fraud.
Spot on FRiend!
A few months ago, "Parts Unknown" hosted by the leftist Anthony Bourdain was set in Detroit. Of course, Bourdain was trying to trying to put a liberal spin on the situation. But even he grudgingly admitted that that the city was in horrendous shape with a few pockets where some good food could be found. Of course, since his program is on the Communist "News" Network (CNN), there was not a single mention that the failures were due to DemonRATs taking charge of the city government in the 1960s.
Is James Craig a Conservative? If not, and he's a DemonRAT, are the lower crime numbers credible? It's known that 'RATs are habitual liars and cook the books to make things look better.
I'm not casting aspersions on Chief Craig but I do remain skeptical whenever 'RATs are involved. If the numbers are true and Craig is a pro-gun, pro-life Conservative, then that means better days are ahead for the beleaguered city.
Thanks for engaging in the discussion since your posts are always quite revealing.
It’s been 47 years since the ‘67 riots in Detroit. After Kwame (the greatest criminal in Michigan history) Kilpatrick and the recent bankruptcy, maybe the city has finally bottomed out.
It’s been 57 years since the Lions won a title. I was 7 yrs. old but remember it well, as our neighbor was the only guy on the street with a t.v. In 2008 they bottomed out at 0-16.
Return to glory for both?

Maybe, but I'd be concerned that the Lions lost to the Panthers (a truly awful team).
The Lions had a couple of good years with Mike Lucci.
