As Thanksgiving Day approaches, vegans and vegetarians have just one request. Please don’t call it Turkey Day. Instead, hungry eaters on plant-based diets are advocating the consumption of fake bird options, such as Tofurky.

turkey day. Turkey Day. TURKEY DAY. T U R K E Y D A Y!!!

Actually we still call it Thanksgiving and emphasize the God to whom the thanks are offered (there really is no point otherwise).

Apparently one side effect of vegan ism and vegetarianism is an insatiable desire to tell others how to act and what to say.

I don’t care if a person chooses not to eat meat. I eat lots of meatless meals. I don’t, however, eat processed, fake flavored verions of the real deal (except orange soda). To me, that’s weird and not healthy, just someone trying too hard.

I don’t care if people have alternatives to the traditional dinner. Just know if you are coming to my house you are getting turkey with a 100 year old stuffing recipe.

Now I have another weapon to fight the libs/pc people. I always say Happy Thanksgiving to anyone who says Happy Holidays. And, I also say Merry Christmas to anyone who says Happy Holidays. I’ll fit Turkey day in there somewhere.

An attractive young lady I dated back in 70 - 71 convinced me to go the veggie route for about 9 months with her. The sustenance she provided me had nothing to do with food so I acquiesced. My epiphany occurred on thanksgiving day 1971...my family, myself and the young lady drove the 50 or so miles into the Bronx to my very Italian Nana’s house. Turkey was a side dish to the lasagna and meatballs, sausage and braciole Nanny placed in front of us. There was no stoping my ‘other’ base desire....that of my meat cravings.

The young lady and I soon broke up..... And not for food reasons. I will never regret my little vegetarian excursion. It made that one thanksgiving meal taste all the better. And though I’m glad I did not marry the young lady....I will never forget that learning experience either

“I’ll be having pizza.”

That’s cool. I have this idea in my head of one day making a pizza topped with turkey, peas and dressing, with a gravy sauce.Unfortunately, it sounds more like a turkey pot pie than a pizza.

I’ve got another suggestion on what the vegans and vegeterians can eat. It rhymes with “spit.”

And every Thanksgiving day for the last 42 years the news media has reports from people who think they are better than you because they do not eat MEAT!

Tofurky. GAG!

Ask them if they use “Happy Holidays” at Halloween or for New Year’s.

A thread about this from a couple of years ago;

Said that soy may help turning kids gay and causing something akin to steroid rage in young men. Haven’t seen it debunked yet.

He’s proud of contributing 3.4 million Tofurky Roasts to the world since he began crafting the object (in 1995)

So that works out to 170,000 people a year out of a nation of 300,000,000. That's 1 in 1765. Or does a tofurkey serve more than one?

“Apparently one side effect of vegan ism and vegetarianism is an insatiable desire to tell others how to act and what to say.”

This leads into the fact that Hitler was a vegetarian.

“I don’t, however, eat processed, fake flavored verions of the real deal”

That all these vegetarians try to make their vegetables taste like like meat is a fascinating fact that really needs to be researched. My theory: it is a subliminal response to the conscious perversion of the natural human diet.

That’s probably glutting the market as it is, I don’t believe there can be that big a market for it

That’s a good idea that I hadn’t thought of; however, we are having optional turkey pizza for the carnivores—no peas, dressing, or gravy though—didn’t think of it.
