In my experience (watching elections since 1976 and participating since 1984), no Republican candidate (and, tell the truth and shame the devil, not many Democrats) has been evil.
I believe it was Reagan who said something like just because I only agree with someone 3/4 of the time does not make him 1/4 my enemy.
Of course, if your goal is somewhere between libertarianism and anarcho-capitalism, then by comparison to you, I am myself an evil statist. Oh well, I'll just have to live with that shame.
Well maybe they can just try following the Constitution? Those founders were pretty smart guys, you know.
Reid couldn't have moved forward the liberal agenda without the help of liberal republicans providing critical cloture votes.
Dewhurst was a liberal Republican here in Texas, and the favorite of the GOP. I and a bunch of others got him fired, and he's neither the Senator from Texas, or the Governor.
I won't vote for a liberal either democrat or republican. I'm a conservative.

Where in the pre-progressive era did the Constitution say we should have ALL this Federal Government? Government which your party apparently agrees with. For starters, what about enforcing the Ninth and Tenth Amendments to that Constitution? That`d destroy half to three quarters of the federal monster there alone. Or do you not believe in and support that document?
