This is a cynical ploy to jump start his career through gay notoriety. He can sing in a few clubs on Christopher and Castro Streets, but now that he's not a little boy anymore, the queers will consider him old and used.

Anyone who listens to The Musers, on The Ticket here in Dallas will know this story.
One of the hosts of the show, once heard Billy's song on the radio (this was before Billy hit puberty), and he thought, that it was some real hot girl singing it, so he asks "Who is that girl who sings this, she sounds great." Of course it turned out to be Billy Gilman, and the other hosts have ragged on him throughout the years for it. Can't wait to listen tomorrow to hear what they are going to say.
That's the only reason I ever heard of the guy.
