With rouged lips, long hair and a strut that would give Naomi Campbell pause, Dave Williams, 47, works the 75-foot runway that stretches between crowded rows of green chipped-paint bunk beds at the L.A. County Sheriff’s Men’s Central Jail.
Williams, a transgender inmate known on the inside as Yah Yah, glides past a hooting and hollering crowd of her fellow gay and transgender inmates, perched atop their beds for a prime view. She’s flaunting a white cotton halter-top baby-doll dress and matching white Cinderella gloves, hand-crafted for her by one of the trans women inside this infamously tough downtown L.A. jail.
Laughing onlookers chant, “Work it, Yah Yah!” “Perform honey!” “Better work that runway!”

Duncan Roy, a gay British film producer who was held in K6G for 89 days without bail in 2012, under ex–Sheriff Lee Baca’s controversial interpretation of “immigration holds,” recalls, “In other parts of the jail, you try and smuggle in drugs and cigarettes. That didn’t happen in our wing.
“If you were going to smuggle something in, it would be dresses and bras.”
He’s definitely a stick-shift tranny.
Remember the good ol’ days? It was perfectly clear when a guy wore women’s clothing, or acted like a woman, that he was understood to be NUTS. I remember this guy from MASH who was hoping to be tossed, and now it’s celebrated!
I got thrown into LA County Jail back in the 70’s. As I was processed in we went by a cage that was full of Hollywood transvestites. Big, tough men with tits, wigs, and long nails. The guards threatened to put us in the cage with the psychopathic faggots.

Even city jails/holding will segregate self-identified homosexuals if they “think” they will be targeted for violence.
Where are the special jails to protect white people from black and hispanic gangs?
When I lived in Huntington Beach, I had a room mate who was a very good guy, but in his younger days (surfer dude) wasn’t a responsible citizen. He didn’t appear in court, for a speeding ticket, and it became a warrant. Sure enough, years later, somebody missed a red light, and totaled his car, in LA. Cops ran his license, and off to County lock-up he went.
He described a scene, next day, as they were herding inmates for their shower. All these naked chicks were there, he couldn’t understand why. Then, he looked beyond the pretty faces, and nice boobs, and saw the awful truth, down below.
That was in 1986, I don’t think he has had as much as a parking ticket, since that experience ;)
A coworker’s brother got thrown in jail, for drunk driving. The cell was designed to hold about a dozen inmates, but easily had twice that amount, and he was the only white, non Latino. A guy asked him what he was in for, so he made a crazy look on his face, and replied “ARSON !!!”. The guy turned around, and translated the response. Everyone moved away from him, and he wasn’t bothered, for the rest of his time, there. :)
