1. (of a medical disorder) caused by the diagnosis, manner, or treatment of a physician.
2. (medical) (of an illness or symptoms) induced in a patient as the result of a physician's words or actions, especially as a consequence of taking a drug prescribed by the physician.
3. (social welfare) (of a problem) induced by the means of treating a problem but ascribed to the continuing natural development of the problem being treated.
Origin: 1920, from iatro- + -genic.
iatro a combining form meaning healer, medicine, healing, used in the formation of compound words
genic a combining form often corresponding to nouns ending in -gen, or -geny, with the following senses: producing or causing (hallucinogenic); produced or caused by (cosmogenic); pertaining to a gene or genes (polygenic); pertaining to suitability for reproduction by a medium (telegenic).

My dogloos are now off to a rescue group, dogsdeservebetter, and I am happy they will be used. My pampered pups never used them. This group is the one that got Michael Vick’s dogs to safety and they own his house now.

16 degrees this morning, but nowhere near as windy as yesterday. Felt milder.

The people commenting on that thread don’t seem to agree with you....but I hear too many gross stories about the taco trucks down here and they have a lot of power to refrigerate and heat things....I have no desire to eat from a cart on a corner.

Of course the medical profession does not want to tell you about the infections you can pick up in the hospital. There are germs floating around in there that you can’t find anyplace else in town! So instead we tell you in Greek.”
