On October 3, 1995, O.J. Simpson was found "not guilty" of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, even though any reasonable person knew that he was guilty. Basically this was a case of "jury nullification". Reaction to the verdict was divided among racial lines.
However, it is important to point out that no cities were burned and no whites retaliated by taking TVs and designer clothing out of department stores. Basically they sucked it up and got on with their lives.
However, O.J. Simpson did not get away with murder after all. From that point on, O.J. Simpson's life was a living hell.
Nobody hired him as an actor again. Not even the 7th remake of "Naked Gun". Nobody wanted his autograph anymore. He did not run through airports anymore. No corporation hired him again to sponsor their product. His stellar NFL career was forgotten about. No longer was he welcome in an NFL stadium. People shunned him. He became a laughingstock (remember the "I'm going to find the REAL killer"?)
He lost a civil trial to the tune of $33,500,000. His Heisman trophy was auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Goldman family. He was denied compensation for book and speaking deals. He was arrested for various offenses and eventually convicted of kidnapping and armed robbery.
He is still in prison today, a miserable, unhappy and unhealthy person. He will either die in prison or if he lives to his parole, will die destitute and lonely.
He did not get away with murder after all.
someone needs to go back to Youtube and certain websites and make some animated gifs
very true
I was inspired to post this in response to the imminent grand jury decision in the Ferguson, MO case. Certain people are poised to riot in the streets because they aren't going to get their "pound of flesh."
Fact is, the Brown kid was a thug. He's on video stealing a box of cigars and shoving a store clerk just before he was shot by the police officer.
This is the man that others want to burn down their city over?
It makes no sense to me. If the police officer was guilty of excessive force, karma will take care of him no matter how the grand jury decides.
Respect the decision of the grand jury. Just like the rest of us had to respect the decision of the jury back in 1995.
O.J. Simpson might have beat the rap with the help of a sharp tongued lawyer, but he could not escape the consequences of his crime.
I hope he is wooed by Christ, comes out with the truth, and starts a new life.
Wow, has it been over 19 years already? Boy do I feel old, well, if not Old-old, I feel as though I’ve seen quite a bit. Author William Dear published a book last summer “O.J. is innocent, and I can prove it”. Dear’s theory is that Jason, O.J.’s son did the killing. There is much circumstantial evidence offered to ponder, such as the fact that
a. Jason was diagnosed with “intermittent Rage Disorder” (aka Jekyll and Hyde syndrome) and was given the drug Depakote to control his rage and frequent seizures.
b. Jason abused alcohol and ecstacy, Jason had made at least three suicide attempts.
c. Jason wrote a short diary type of note entitled “Dear Jason”. The note described the writer as being split into three different people. The writing was identified as Jasons by a handwriting expert.
d. In January of 1994, six months before the killings, Jason went to the emergency room because he heard voices of people who were not there and said he felt, as if he was “going to rage” because he ahd run out of Depakote.
e. Jason stopped taking Depakote two months before the murders.
f. At the time of the murders, Jason was on probation for having attacked his restaurant boss with a kitchen knife.
g. Jason’s whereabouts are presently unknown.
Also unknown, why this was never brought out into the daylight for discussion.
The guy who helped him commit the murders did get away with it.
Funny, I was just watching the old Churchlady SNL skit earlier and she had “O.J.” as a guest.

Even though she was never locked up like O.J., Lizzie Borden was also ostracized and shunned
All that talent gone to waste. If my giveacrap meter wasn’t broken, I’d care.
I heard he converted to Islam?
I mean, he has the necessary experience

Apparently his alcoholic daughter is squandering his NFL pension while he sits behind bars and he may end up losing his house over it.
He won't have much to come back to.
He got away with murder, he was living pretty good before he ended up in prison.
He used to just drive around Westwood back in the day and check out all the blonde students walking by... He was handsome at the time in a luscious car, and I admit to being flattered by his staring... The famous OJ Simpson, my parents watched all his games at SC, wow. And we passed his house on the way home, up there off Mulholland at the time.
But then I spent a day sunbathing with my friend and her friend, and the friend, never saw her again, named Darby, was complaining how OJ wouldn’t leave her alone. Another long haired blonde, about 18, very pretty, but she didn’t like him and her daddy REALLY didn’t like him. I kinda wished it was me... Not long after that, he met Nicole...
I’m good. ;)
I thought that recent story of him having sex with a tranny in prison was kinda funny. OJ’s dad was an HIV+ tranny.
The day of the verdict, I was at a bookstore in Austin and a clerk told me his schizophrenic son did it, and OJ’s been covering for him.
With all this everybody converting to Muslim stuff in prison, it might well be true.
What happened to the Bronco?
you would think that would be on e-bay every couple of years, right?
I’m thinking rectal cancer. Maybe penile cancer.
I know why you picked pancreatic. I still want him to live longer after diagnosis and stuff being lopped off.
OK, so maybe he got to live in a mansion and play golf for a while but those had to be lonely and miserable years. Now he rots in prison.
No, he did not get away with murder after all.
Elvis drives it to work at the BK in Kalamazoo.
My understanding is that his pension is untouchable.
So, if he gets out which is unlikely at this point, he will not be destitute.
