I'd heard of it, but without details. Thanks for the link. Imported, like most cases in the US. Parts of Micronesia are some of the places leprosy is still endemic. Most do well with antibiotic treatment although tricky complications can occur. Noncompliance is the main problem, which his imprisonment should remove. Risk to others is lowit's been called the least infectious, infectious diseaseand should be nil soon, although he'll need to be on antibiotics quite awhile.
