Trout should have won it last year. The MVP should go with a player of a team that makes it beyond the first round in the playoffs. Just a thought.

Daddy Wags always thought he should be MVP.

Two years ago, Trout was in serious contention for the AL MVP. Problem was, Miguel Cabrera that season won the baseball Triple Crown title and many people argued for Trout based on the complicated wins above replacement statistic, which many MVP voters did not understand.

The MVP votes are due to be turned in before the playoffs start. They just hold off announcing it until long after the World Series is over. So it is based on regular season performance only, not post season.

Congratulations Mr. Trout. You deserve it.

From what I’ve seen, MT doesn’t let his outstanding talents get the best of his ego (unlike someone like AROD). That makes him a good role model for the kids.

If the Yankees end up getting him in a few years I bet he’ll become another Derek Jeter.

MVP votes are submitted before the playoffs commence.

My opinion is that it should go to the best player, even if said player is on a cruddy under-.500 team.

Good, he’s been angling for it long enough.

Hard to imagine a Triple Crown winner not winning MVP. TC doesn’t happen too often...

My team did not have anybody in the MVP category but they were 90 feet away from possibly winning the World Series. Kansas City fan since we joined the ML in 1955.

I stand corrected on both counts, even a contradiction in my logic in my post. Hey, human like everyone and I love the Angels.

Ted Williams won the triple crown twice without winning MVP.

(The sportswriters didn't like him.)

Norm Siebern had an awesome year in 1962.

Good for him. Let’s see if Miguel Cabrera can take it back next season, or if Trout continues to reign supreme

So did Bob Cerv in 1958 with his broken jaw wired shut. But finishing so far out of the lead doesn't get that many MVP votes.
