No amount of money can get Robert Plant to reunite with his Led Zeppelin bandmates.
The 66-year-old singer walked away from a 35-date tour that would have paid the rock group nearly $800 million ripping up the contract in front of stunned promoters, the Mirror newspaper reported Sunday.

Yea, very few singers keep the voice they had in their younger years.
He doesn’t get nearly as much attention for singing his new stuff, as he would in a Zep reunion. Only hardcore fans are probably even aware that he still has a solo career.
They totally ripped off Spirit. .
Jimmy Page never had an original thought in his life.
Who was going to argue with Peter Grant back in the day?
Don’t know, but I saw Spirit in concert at least twice.
“...instead of a 60+ year old man singing “Squeeze my lemon until the juice runs down my leg.”
Man, I wasn’t crazy about that lyric when I was 17...!
Sorry, I totally brainlocked. Yes, I meant Brian.
$300M each - even adjusted for inflation, I doubt Page or Plant ever earned that much from all of their ‘70s tours combined. Baby boomer nostalgia rock is obviously profitable - can newer acts like Justin Timberlake or Taylor Swift command fees like that?
No way Brian improved AC/DC, Bon was the best ever. Especially if you listened to some of his pre-AC/DC stuff with Fraternity, very unique voice.
Because he loves singing, but can’t hit the notes his old material requires. But he can still sing the ones they don’t.
Maybe in the 2050s, there will be a billion-dollar Justin Bieber concert.
“Yeah. Like a hysterical shrew or a castrato.”
Yeah, like I said man, amazing!
Ha!
It’s probably true that he got a lot of abuse.
Even Mafia guys would have been terrified of Peter.
Yeah, that's the sad truth.
I have to wonder if he wasn't stung a bit by Ann Wilson's vocals during the tribute performance of Stairway.
Only band worse was Rush. That was was a true castrato.
I remember the story about Peter threatening the manager of Grand Funk Railroad, to get them off the bill with Zeppelin, because they were blowing them off the stage.
“can newer acts like Justin Timberlake or Taylor Swift command fees like that?”
I don’t know but Swift can fill Giants stadium. That ain’t bad. It seems to me that there aren’t as many acts that can do that as there once were.
Be fair, Geddy’s vocals were much more manageable when Permanent Waves came out. The difference in the vocals on that and Hemispheres was like night and day. And that’s when Rush became tolerable.
