No amount of money can get Robert Plant to reunite with his Led Zeppelin bandmates.
The 66-year-old singer walked away from a 35-date tour that would have paid the rock group nearly $800 million ripping up the contract in front of stunned promoters, the Mirror newspaper reported Sunday.

I guess that he has enough money to satisfy him.
I have to admit that would be very satisfying.
Page’s fingers may get a little slower, but the guitar sounds just as good. Comparisons with the recorded music everyone is used to aren’t too bad.
On the other hand, Plant knows his old voice just can’t cut it anymore. Maybe if he was Leon Redbone it wouldn’t matter, but young Plant is a tough act to follow.
There must have been a communication breakdown.
Plant may not be able to get it up vocally enough to not get booed off the stage. He’s had a lot of vocal degradation over the years.
I guess he’s still sore at John Paul Jones. Why, I don’t know. He did do some appearances with Jimmy Page a few years ago, maybe they had a row?
Walking away from $800M? Wonder what Page and JPJ thinks? Also wonder what kind of ticket price generates that kind of money. I’d love to see Zep again, but would not take out a mortgage to do so.
What'd David Byrne do? Say, "Don't bother me any more. I'm not interested." without the theatrics?
Good. Some integrity for once. They are all what? In their 70s and Bhonam isn’t there.
Good on Plant.
Unfortunate.
Could be publicity stunt.
His polyp surgery in the mid-70s was probably a big contributor to that degradation.
Yeah, probably so, but I’d still like to see him give it a go.
Jason Bonham, on the other hand, could've really used some of that cash.
I’m dazed and confused, and I feel totally trampled underfoot.
Plant is 66; Page is 70; Jones (né Baldwin) is 68.
The Who kept going without Keith Moon. AC/DC kept going without Bon Scott, and he was the singer.
I get that a lot of people want to see them again. But sometimes you really can’t go home.
One of my favorite bands, who I loved like others love Zep did the reunion thing. I wish they had not and let my memories of them be ‘pure’ ;)
I’d never heard he had the surgery. The results of such surgery can be hit or miss.
Some of the live recordings of Plant circa 68/69 are amazing. He had a sound like no one else.
The ticket price is small potatoes compared with the album sales, downloads, merchandise, etc.
