Attorney General Eric Holder criticized Rep. Darrell Issa’s (R-Calif.) years-long congressional probe into "Operation Fast and Furious" as little more than an effort to "suck up to the gun lobby," according to internal emails released Monday.
"Issa and his idiot cronies never gave a damn about this when all that was happening was that thousands of Mexicans were being killed with guns from our country," Holder wrote to members of his staff in April 2011, after Issa threatened to subpoena a Federal Firearms Licensee witness to testify on the investigation. “All they want to do -- in reality -- is cripple ATF and suck up to the gun lobby," he continued, referring to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the branch of the Justice Department that was in charge of the gunrunning operation.
"Politics at its worst -- maybe the media will get it," Holder's email added.

Can you pardon someone for offences until they are charged with an offence. I would like to see Eric Holder in jail tomorrow, but I can wait two years until Obama is out of office.
Holder’s F&F plan is utterly depraved. I depended upon the murder of random innocent persons. Since it involved Mexico it likely is an act of war. It certainly is a crime against the peace.
He belongs in jail forever.

I am not a lawyer, but Presidents can issue blanket pardons. I believe the answer is that they can. President Obama could issue a pardon for all of the people in his administration for anything committed while they were in office, I believe, maybe for anything committed up to the time of the pardon.
I do not think that he could issue a pardon for future acts.
Such a blanket pardon might be an impeachable offense, however.

Why should he think different? He got away with the whole Waco massacre, because the old media covered for him. They have been doing the same for six years for this administration.
The old media terrified the Rinos. Holder had good reason to hold them in contempt. His old media allies had them by the short hairs.
If he is pardoned, he can be compelled to testify, because his freedom would no longer be imperiled. Then, if he were to lie, that would be a new, unpardoned crime.
