Actor Norman Reedus berates reports saying that he is against his 'The Walking Dead' character Daryl Dixon to become a homosexual.
Reedus has just become a victim of irresponsible journalism and misquoting, just like many celebrities. According to a report by Inquisitr, the actor does not welcome the idea of playing a gay role in the mega hit zombie survival series.
Inquisitr reported that Reedus had urged the producers to avoid making Daryl gay, as it this might hurt The Walking Dead's ratings.
"Insiders say he fears the same-sex shocker would hurt ratings by disappointing his legions of female fans. Norman isn't anti-gay in his personal life, but he's become one of the biggest male sex symbols in television," the report says.
Reedus took it to Twitter to slam the report, and even included a link of the said article.
In the October issue of GQ magazine, he revealed that he has spoken to TWD creator, Frank Darabont, about the possibility of Daryl being "unsure" with the matters of the heart despite his intense survival skills. Reedus commented that this kind of twist will surprise people and make the show and his character even more interesting.
"[Darabont said] Well, he's prison gay — like, you'll catch him looking at a member of the same sex, but if you mention it to him, he'll just stab you and be like what the f**k?—he will never admit it.' I was like, 'That'll blow minds — let's do that.' And he said, 'I knew I hired you for a reason," explained Reedus in the GQ interview.
Merle was an ass. Had a few principles but when one of the few is “i’m an ass” it kinda wears down the other one or two good ones he had.
I will gladly dump the show.

PC and leftist agenda/propaganda have killed more TV series than anything.
Maybe the producers/writers of TWD are smart enough to know their success has been due to good story development.
Maybe not. They are Hollywood, after all.
Hollywood craves to turn strong male characters into homosexuals. Many years ago, I knew of a fat/angry/lesbian/feminist type who, after a play was cast, wanted to rewrite the script to make a strong male actor into a homosexual.
And he refused. She lost her marbles at him, demanding that he play the part. So he said no, and that he was walking. She about became apoplectic, and threatened to sue him over his contract. But he hadn’t signed his contract yet.
Finally, in a Parthian shot, he told her he was leaving, “Honey”. She lost it, screaming obscenities at him until she ran headlong into an overhead low beam. She even tried to claim he hit her, except there were several witnesses who swore he didn’t so much as touch her.
The rumor has been that Darryl is prison gay, to put a fine point on it.
Him not being against it openly is more evidence this will be true.
The producers know that he’s the favorite character of what they consider rubes, so what did you expect? Of course they will stick it to those fans.
The only issue left is if he tops or bottoms.

After Daryl goes gay in WD, the next big step would be to get some Muslim dead walkers, with their 72 dead virgin walkers following close behind.

That's for sure. They already have gay characters, anyway.
If the writers try to pull some kind of gay bullshit with Daryl's character, I'll stop watching.
Thus far, through five seasons, the show has been refreshingly devoid of political correctness (at least I haven't seen it) but there's no surer way of killing a good thing than to insert transparent, heavy-handed political/social agendas.
The writers are liberals but they are good writers and have made an effort to keep their politicl views in check. I mean homosexuality, foodstamps and gun control just do not have much of a place in a post apocalyptic world.
Andrea was a civil rights attorney who tried to bring the Woodbury and Prison clans together and was killed.
