We purchased our toploading Whirlpool W/D in 1987 and never had to have any service done on them, finally had to get new w/d this year.

Only thing wrong with the Washer, the bottom rusted out, leaking water. Nothing wrong with the motor or gears.

That was the Whirlpools of yesterday, Speed Queen top loader for us now. If that lasts at least 10 years that may get me into the retirement center, and not have to worry about that stuff anymore.
