Giants defeat the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in Game Seven to win the World Series.
Hey! You know I’m vertically challenged. And, FWIW, I just made MYSELF a Sammich for my lunch. Turkey and Swiss on Rye. ‘Tis A Thing Of Beauty. :)
OH, just stab me in the heart and be done with it.
“One of the best moments was in Game 6 when they interviewed some KC Royals fans who were there with their 7-day-old daughter. They had to leave Game 1 because the mother started to go into labor.”
I had no problem with the interview/story, but I did have a big problem with when they chose to air it because there were players up to bat. I’m the kind of guy that like to watch the entire game from the first pitch to the last and I hate it when a network decides to preempt the game with extraneous stuff.
It’s not as though there aren’t a lot of gaps in the gameplay when it comes to baseball, but I guess they want to show every second of advertising possible, even though we must have already seen “creepy Rob Lowe” 50 times in the last week.
Great series and great, exciting final game.
I’m a Giants fan but the Royals have nothing to be ashamed about. For all the other trash talkers on this thread...better luck next year.
I agree with you that they should not have aired it when someone was up to bat—I didn’t realize that they had done that.
These Giants have now won 3 WS in the last 5 years. Are they a great team? No. What they have is the best post season pitcher probably in the history of baseball. He’s a rarity. A reliable pitcher in the regular season, not great, and the reincarnation of Sandy Koufax in the post season. I wanted Royals to win but knew when Bumgarner came in with the Giants up one, the game was over. Congrats to both teams.
” He said he never once bought his own beer and took more pics with his new KC buds than he could count. Hat tip to the class act that is KC.”
You’ll get the same treatment in St. Louis too. Great people. Humbling to be in their presence.
Nebraska football is like that too. Standng O’s for the away team as they take the field, and as they leave.
The coasts of this country are gangrenous. It’s as if they should be cut away.
I had "tossed back a few" and was way out of line in my comments.
SF played a great series and deserves the rings and hardware.
I hate the non-GIANT fans who are not perceptive enough
to KNOW that Kruk and Kipe are the best broadcast team
in the biz.
Boo-hoo, Dodjerk fans.
I don’t know which team you follow, Rcky, but it is clear
from your post that they have at least one class act fan.
Regards,
GIANTS fan
They aren’t even the best broadcasters on the Giants. : )
You don’t know chit, DF.
Krukow is okay. Kuiper is too smug and too much a homer for my tastes. Milller and Fleming are superior, IMHO.
Your “IMHO”...well, fine if you qualify it in that manner.
Krukow is 62 and I knew him when he lived in the jock dorms
across from my football playing, beer drinking pal in college. The enthusiasm in his voice when he was 20 remains.
He also does his player homework like nobody else.
What you get from Kuiper is a mid West matter of fact style
which balances Krukow’s enthusiasm. Throw in humor from both
and the reason Giant fans and others love them becomes
apparent. Smugness? Nope, see Vin Sully for that. Miller
and Flemming are just plain excellent, just lacking baseball expertise. ESPN has an online article about K&K and quite a
few non Giants fans responded with the ultimate compliment.
